Chapter 10

Ash's POV

"Let's just go." I said and started leaving the mansion premises. I was angry. Very angry. But was more upset. I can't believe she has turned like this. She was so nice and calm earlier. But now, she has turned to an evil.

I could clearly see Serena's tears. She wanted to come, but no, Grace has turned to a person whom no one has ever expected. i should have known this. I should have done something for Serena.

My chest is paining. Paining with sorrow, paining with anger. I am upset. Very upset. But still, I was just standing there, listening to her orders, and just walked out of there like that thing never happened. I hate myself.

As I was walking with rage on my face, I felt someone grabbed my hand.

"Stop there, Ash!"

I turned around and saw it was Mike. He also had an upset face. But there was some curiosity visible on his face.

"Ash, tell me what's happening. Why didn't you not said anything there and went without any hesitations?" he asked.

"It's none of your business." I replied bluntly.

"No, you have to tell me. I am your friend. We all are your friends." He said. I took a small sigh.

"Alright. Let's go and sit somewhere. I will then tell you everything." I replied, to which Mike and Gary nod. We went to the nearest park and sat there on one of the benches.

"Now tell us what happened." Dawn said, to which I sighed.

"Gary, remember a girl and her mother living on our colony next to your home?" I asked.

"Um, kind of. Wait?! You mean...?" he asked.

"Yes, the girl was none other than Serena." I replied.

"But Ash, they both lived there for about 14 years ago. Then my mom told me they got shifted to Illinois." He said.

"Yes. They shifted. That I know. But just tell me one thing. Where is the Mayor of the city from?" I asked.

"The Mayor usually comes here once every 4 or 5 months. And he stays in... Illinois..." Dawn replied.

"That's the point. Serena and her mom went to Illinois and something happened by which Grace got married with the Mayor." I said.

"Wait, so you mean... Serena's dad is not the Mayor?" Mike asked.

Mike's POV

"Wait, so you mean... Serena's dad is not the Mayor?" I asked.

"Well, no." dad replied. Oh my god! I was already in shock on what all things happened now. And now this. That's why mom never told me that her dad was a dad.

"I should have identified her. We both used play together." Dawn said, with a sad tone.

"It's not your fault Dawn. It's been more than 10 years she was with now. But I can't understand why aunt Grace has turned like this? She was so nice to us earlier." Gary said.

"This is all because of the Mayor. He just made aunt Grace swim in his money, which made her arrogant and thus, you can see what all happened." dad replied. He's correct. The way she was talking to us was strange.

But whenever I met her, she never showed these expressions of arrogancy. Something must had happened due to which I was able to see her good face.

"But Ash, now what about to be done for Serena?" Dawn asked.

"I don't know what to do. We can't now take her with us. Not until aunt Grace is there." dad replied.

"Can't we manage something?" I asked.
