Hi there :) This story just randomly popped into my head lol. But it grew into something intense and interesting.

'Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.'- Aristotle

I knew it was a dream.

Yet it felt real. Familiar. Like I was reliving a distant memory that was buried deep within me.

Hidden but still there.

I was running. Running away from someone. But not out of fear; I was laughing.

As I ran, I glanced down and held my dress to stop it from floating around me. I was surprised by my imagination. The dress was so old- not in its condition but the style of it. The dress was made of linen and came down to my ankles in folds and was held in place by a red pin on my left shoulder. The dress was gold and the belt on my waist was cream. I then realised that it appeared either Roman or Grecian. Like in the films about gladiators and emperors and battles across the Mediterranean.

I turned around without stopping to see if anyone was there. There was nobody in sight so I playfully grabbed the tree with pale pink flowers and spun around, laughing at something that I still hadn't figured out.

'I told you I'll always find you, Grace,' a deep voice said followed by laughter.

Suddenly the voice appeared in front of me. It was a young man, maybe the age of eighteen. He had stubble on his face and his eyes were dark brown. His hair was dark brown as well and long; it reached the end of his neck and seemed to make him look a little older. His muscles were well formed and he had a long scar on the right side of his face that went from the end of his eyebrow to his sideburn. I recalled something about it being done with a knife by someone. He was handsome but that wasn't what made me stare into his eyes as he smiled warmly at me.

I felt something. A jolt of recognition. A jolt of fear.

He grabbed my hand. 'I have to go soon. I still have training to do. Promise me you'll meet me at the side of the river straight after sunset.'

I felt my head nod in response and I remembered this was just a dream and that I was merely watching from the girls point of view. 'I promise.'
