One by one, Will had gone through the memories, and second by second, the conflict between his emotions intensified. There were so many memories that she had that he never sent. Some memories that were so beautiful, he hated himself for not remembering them. Together, they shared beautiful moments.
But for every memory of him and Grace, there was one of Grace and Julian. Memories that even he didn't know about. Julian had always wanted Grace- for far longer than he initially believed. Even though it was Will that she wanted, he never stopped pursuing her and showering her with gifts. Even the way he spoke to her was intimate. He was a cunning little bastard, truly the son of a damn politician.
It was as if the memories were reminding her of Julian and not him, persuading her that it was Julian she should be with. And then it was the voice of the cryptic old woman, telling Grace about the seal of the soulmates. A seal created by Aphrodite, which irrevocably tied two souls together for eternity. But it broke. It was lost. Because of him and Grace.
Once you found your soulmate, you found them in every lifetime. It was a love where nothing was required because everything was already given to you. Soulmates were supposed to love each other beyond reason, beyond life itself. And they did. That was why Aphrodite chose Will and Grace to be the first soulmates. But an act of such cruelty and selfishness, broke Aphrodite's faith in love itself and she cursed Will to keep them apart by changing their destinies, so their fates were no longer intertwined.
But Aphrodite didn't know that Will's fate was already altered and that he was already cursed; cursed to roam the earth as a phtonian, yearning for the essence of life and brutually taking it away.
Will still remembered the feelings he went through when the seal broke. When they met, the atmosphere became magnetised, almost alive and two auras merged, forming a whole. When it broke, the auras split and the air dulled. The pain was too physical, like wandering a dessert, parched and searching for water, searching for something you cannot live without and never finding it.
Will snapped out of his thoughts. He always despised himself for becoming overly emotional. It was a weakness that he fought everyday. He was a monster. Bloodthirsty and malicious.
Will shimmered to the temple of the prophecies where Ponirossa waited. His hard eyes looked down at the repulsive sight of bones and stretched skin. She was seated at a wooden table, a crystal ball resting on a purple table cover.
'The enemy is not the Goddess Aphrodite,' she said.
Will's jaw tightened. 'I know this already. She wasn't the one that gave me this damn curse. Hers was much worse.'
Ponirossa shook her head, her terrible mass of black hair falling behind her. 'The one who cursed you was also a God, but not a God of the Greek pantheon.'
Will searched her face for any hints of betrayal. 'Which pantheon?'
Her shoulders dropped. 'The Roman pantheon.'
'What else do you know?' Will hissed.
'Nothing,' she whispered.
He leaned forward slightly and tapped the crystal glass lightly. 'Well, find out.' Will gave her a sadistic smile as she looked on in horror and shimmered to the hall.
'I summon you to the earth plane, Aphrodite,' he said, even though he wasn't certain she'd show. She rarely ever did. 'I have some information which might be of interest to you. It's to do with my curse. Not the one you so kindly bestowed on me.'
Will waited patiently but wasn't surprised that she didn't know. He'd tricked her before into coming by saying he had information. But things were different now. For some reason or the other,Ponriossa was making new discoveries and Will could feel his powers growing which in turn fed Ponriossa's search for the prophecies and any information.
