I woke up to police sirens. My head was pounding, and I groggily looked around to see that I was in a car. As I came to my senses, I realized that the police had found me. I was in a police car.

"She's awake," the officer in front of me told the driving officer, who simply grunted. She looked at me. "Are you the missing girl, Elizabeth Beaumont?"

I nodded. "I... I am... what happened?" I asked. I was finally found! But how?

"Some runner found you sleeping in that blanket against a tree, darlin'. I take it you ran away and wanted to live on your own, huh?"

I frowned. "What? What blank..." I trailed off as I noticed the blanket I was wrapped in. Tears formed in my eyes as I realized that Brian had put me to be found. He didn't want me anymore, perhaps. "Ma'am... I..." I trailed off again. Not wanting to expose Brian, I simply sighed. "My life was stressful under all the riches."

The male officer that was driving scoffed. "Spoiled brat. Running away and giving everyone a scare. Not to mention that hefty reward that runner is getting for finding you," he said.

I remained quiet as we got to the village station. My parents were there to greet me. They hugged me tight. I missed them a lot, and I held them tightly.

"Oh Lizzy... you're okay!" my mother said. She was crying.

I smiled at her. "Yeah, just some bruises. I'm sorry I disappeared."

My father shook his head. "Come on, let's go home."

"Take that filthy blanket off, you don't need that anymore," my mother told me. But as she tried to take it away, I held onto it. She raised an eyebrow. "You have a better one at home."

I blinked. The officers were watching. "Oh uh..." I laughed nervously. "I... just got attached to it, I guess. I'll wash it when I get home." My father snatched the blanket from me. I whimpered, and folded my arms. But he didn't snatch it because it was dirty. He was staring at my shirt... the black shirt with blue seams that Brian had given me.

"Where'd you get that male shirt?" he asked.

I looked down at it. "Oh uh... a lady in a clothing store gave me a few defected men's shirts."

"Hm," was all he said. "Alright. Let's go home." I nodded and took back the blanket from him.

My parents thanked the officer, and my father wrote a check to the man that had found me. When I saw the amount, I inwardly had a heart attack. Ten thousand dollars?! For finding me?! "Dad. No this is wrong... the reward shouldn't be that much because I ran away and... I'm fine!"

He shook his head. "If he didn't find you, you may have decided not to come home." I remained quiet and left it at that.

As we went back home, I noticed a page from Brian's notepad caught in the blanket's folds. I was surprised. He left a note? It was a wonder how it didn't fall out when my father snatched it, or when I was found. Maybe the paper just did a weird paper thing. I read it over and over.

This is only because I love you.
