"Olivia! Fuck..."
I feel strong arms wrapped around me pulling me close to a firm body. With all the strength I can muster I try to kick the person holding me, and writhe furiously in an attempt to break free.
"Let me go!" I scream desperately. "Noo!"
"Liv. It's me, Zach!"
I freeze and open my eyes. Zach's hazel eyes are fixed on me, and he's watching me with concern all over his face.
"Shh...it's okay." He caresses my back and places a gentle, lingering kiss on my hair.
"What happened?" I ask hoarsely while my eyes cling to his to find some comfort. My heart is racing, and my t-shirt is soaked from sweat.
"You had a nightmare. A terrible one, I guess," Zach explains without loosening his grip around me.
Very slowly, the memory returns into my head, and I remember bit by bit of my horrible dream. Terrence's mouth and hands all over my body, and then Jack's disgusting remark about fucking me.
The recollection of all the things Terrence did to me is too much for me, and I bury my face in Zach's chest and start sobbing.
"Hey...shh...it's okay. It's over now. I got you, baby!" Zach keeps whispering soothing words into my ear until my sobs subside.
"Zach?" I mutter into his drenched t-shirt.
"Yea?"
"Terrence is dead, right? He's not alive anymore, isn't he?" I ask lowly and level our heads to meet his gaze.
"Uh...Yes, I shot him that night, don't you reme..."
"But you know for sure he is dead, right?" I interrupt him impatiently. I need to know that my dream was just a really bad dream and not something like a bad omen.
"The officer confirmed his death, Olivia," Zach reassures me with a serious expression. "Why are you even asking me that? Was your dream about T?"
I nod and tell him my full dream. When I'm finished, Zach's face is pale, and he clenches his teeth.
"Shit... That's fucked up! Come here," he states lowly and pulls me close again. "I promise you I won't let Jack or anyone else harm you again!"
I breathe in the soothing scent of him and slowly, my body starts relaxing in his strong arms.
After a few minutes, I reluctantly pull away and swing my legs out of bed.
"I need a shower. I'm sweaty all over," I mutter and walk off towards the bath.
While the hot water is coating my exhausted body, my thoughts wander to tonight. It's New Year's Eve. The night I was so excited about. There's this huge party which takes place in our hotel and at midnight all the guests gather on the rooftop to watch the firework together. Right now, I don't feel like partying at all, but I'm determined to change that.
When I step out of the bathroom, Zach is already waiting to use it as well.
"Do you feel better now?" he asks softly.
"Yea. That shower felt amazing!" I retort with a warm smile.
It's true. I feel much better after washing off the sweat and all the bad energy of my dream. I think I'm ready to have a nice day with my friends.
"Good," Zach states, returning my smile before his eyes wander down and linger on my body which is only covered by a set of lace lingerie.
"Damn, Liv," he mutters, biting his bottom lip and steps closer. As he lifts his arms to wrap them around my body, I take a step backwards and shake my head.
