The water lapped back towards the beach a couple times, the sand hot on her feet as she sunk them into the sand. surprisingly she didn't eat a lot for an island girl, sipping simply on her coconut milk as that had been all she had that day.

"Vanuat-""OOF" Suddenly, the boy tripped in front of her, causing her to casually lift her sunglasses in surprise and confusion before anyone could so as snap their fingers or say 'cowabunga'. She sighed.

"Fijiiii..." She called, a playful tone of voice. "I told you to go look for Barbados, didn't I?"

This vacation sucked. Vanuatu had promised him pina colada, and relaxation. Sunglasses and coconuts, sand between his toes. A final breather. He had voiced his concerns, prone to often falling into places with water and nearly drowning. She brushed it off as he was just silly.

So far with complying, all he had been greeted with is orders. No vacation food, no vacation enjoyment, just orders. Vacation orders, if he had to pathetically humor himself.

Currently being on the ground from clumsily tripping wasn't really doing him so good either.

"I can't find him!" He exclaimed, pulling himself up from the sand and spitting a bit out his mouth. *yuck, if that already wasn't salty enough as it was.*

"have you checked the oasis?" Vanuatu offered, a bit of annoyance in her tone as she could have sworn he hadn't tried there yet.

The oasis was a small place between islands, nearly slipping towards the stronger tides of the ocean between central america and their home, oceania. It was a bit risky to head there, among dodging temples and avoiding accidentally wandering into ceremonies they were uninvited to to get to the location. But at the same time, there was no saying what would happen if someone ended up being picked up by the current there.

"Oh..." Fiji solemnly paused for a moment, blinking. "Hey you're right, I haven't tried."

Vanuatu responded by rolling her eyes, "well then GO. Shoo! Shoo!" She waved one hand, trying to dismiss him as she wanted to go back to sipping her awaited coconut milk. "We don't have all day to go back home without him!"

This sent him off running. A quest to find their friend that he had never even met before, let alone knew what he looked like; He wasn't sure was the wisest choice to depend on him for, but he continued forward nonetheless. Besides, if he passed by anyone he didn't know, he could just ask them if they happened to be Barbados. Surely that wouldn't be a lot of people, right?

He wasn't much of a traveller. If anything, he tripped too much on his feet and ran out of energy more often times than he could count or would have liked to. Nearly losing direction, and sight of what his destination was supposed to be. Fiji was the type to be clumsy enough to mix up landmarks. He was just near-sighted like that.

Finally though, he managed to reach a clearing where the sand was beginning to part and the ocean looked more paste-filled than usual. Almost like shining crystal surface, molded into goo and squeezable.

He wasn't sure why he always felt the texture of water to be off like that, but he almost felt conditioned to blame his own sight for it.

"long walk.." he muttered to himself, noticing up ahead that the sun had been setting by the time he managed to arrive. It was almost a wonder if she hadn't left him behind already. then again, did she even consider the distance of travelling to THIS length? Of course it was going to take him a few hours. They obviously hadn't thought to be closer to it already when they settled down to chill out for awhile.
