CHAPTER 4:
Cam's POV:
I took a nice shower and changed into some dry clothes. I went to Sam's room and stopped by the doorway. Her mom was sitting on the bed beside Sam, and was caring for her and was looking at her intently. I was going to head back to my room when she called my name.
"Cam?" she asked so I stopped. "Yo wanted something honey?".
"No actually, I was just going to check on Sammy but I think I should leave you two alone." I said.
"No no. Come and take a seat." She offered the seat next to the bed. I watched her as she was stroking her hair. She was simply staring at Sam but was deep in thought. She suddenly said, "She wasn't like this before, she never had any interest in sports, she didn't have any hobbies, she was not much on her school work. But when you guys left, it's like she was morphing into a different person. She got really closed off, more so when you stopped calling. She busied herself with her school work, got into almost all the clubs in her school, she took on many classes. She just kept on studying and working. Like she wanted to have no fun anymore. She wasn't playing or watched tv, nothing." This sent a pang throught my chest. "Then her dad talked to her. He told her not to close us off. That she had to let us help her. Since she became somewhat depressed in a way, we thought it would help to let her have a vacation. It helped but just a little, but when her two girl friends came, its like she was starting to be happy again. They helped a lot." She continued.
"I'm sorry." I blurted out.
And like she was snapped out of a trance, she remembered I was actually there. She looked at me a bit shocked "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry about that honey. I forgot you were there. Cam I wasn't thinking, don't say sorry, your not to blame." She kept on rambling so I simply waved off what she said.
"Aunty Rebecca it's fine, it's fine. Stop rambling.' I said. "I know the blame is on me for that. I broke my promise to keep in touch with her. She was always one to hold on to those kind of things." I said. "But I want to make it up to her, so when mom told me you guys were coming, I panicked a bit as to what she would do to me, wether she'd hit me or what." I laughed at that a bit. " So I made a promise to myself that I have to make it up to her. Even if we won't be like before, just for her to fogive me is enough. Coz i know she won't admit to me that she's mad." I said.
"She will. I know she will." aunt Rebecca said. She got up and patted my back. "I'm going to bed now. You should get some rest too, it would have taken a lot of strength to go looking for that kid and carrying her here." she said with a smile.
"Uhm I wanted to keep an eye on her for while, just to make sure she's okay. I'll go to bed after. I mean if that's okay with you?" I asked hopeful.
"Sure honey. But get some rest okay?" she said.
"Yes aunty. Good night'" I answered.
"Good night Cam"
And so, I stayed ther just watching her intently. I didn't notice the time, and I was getting really sleepybut I wanted to keep an eye on her so I just stayed there until I eventually feel asleep.
Sam's POV:
I woke up to the sun shining through the window. My body was sore, then everything from yesterday came back to me. How did I get in my bed? How did I get to the house? All I remember is sleeping in the greenhouse, almost freezing to death. Then a groaning sound surprised me. He was sleeping on the chair in a wierd position. His eyes fluttered and tried to bend his neck but flinched. His neck hurt for sure. He then saw me then smiled.
"Good morning" he said.
"Good morning. Uhm can I ask something? Why are you sleeping there? and how did I get here?"I asked a little shyly. I was still in my bed for heaven's sake.
"Yeah. Uhm I fell asleep here last night, sorry. And for the other questions, I found you in the greenhouse and carried you here." he said simply like it was nothing. Wait what?!? he carried me going here? My cheeks started to warm up. What the hell?!? This is so embarassing. My head started hurting and the room started to spin so I layed back down. "Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah I'm fine. Just got a liitle dizzy that's all." I answered.
"I'll go get some water." he exclaimed
"No, no. I'm fine. Just sat up too quickly."I said in a rush.
"oh okay." He said then an awkward silence fell over us. "uhm I'll go to my room now." he said.
"okay" I answered. Great day to start your 'vacation' Sam. weeehh(bote the sarcasm)
