CHAPTER 3:

I was running through the path when I spotted a greenhouse in the lot. I curiously approached it. When I was close enough, I saw that it had a black frame, almost two-stories tall, and big as a house. Being surrounded by clear glass, you could see the inside clearly. I opened the door to the greenhouse and gasped as too what I saw.

Inside was an array of different colors of blue, red, yellow, pink, purple and many more. It had a fountain in  the middle of it and a huge tree in the corner. All in all, it looked like the garden of eden. I walked through the pot stands and admired the plants. On the corner of my eye, something blue caught my eye. It was a blue carnation. I took one bloom and held it to my nose. It smelled really good. I tucked the flower in my ear and roamed around. Below the huge tree in the corner was garden set of four seats. Lights hung on the tree that covered the table. I sat on one of the chairs and leaned my head back. I close my eyes and took in the aroma of the flowers.

I was enjoying  the peacefulness for a while when I suddenly heard a roar of thunder. I looked up to see raindrops falling through the glass roof. I groaned as I got up and was going to head out when the rain started pouring. I took out my cell to call my mom when the screen showed the message 'battery empty'. "Shit!" I exclaimed. How the hell am I supposed to get out of here. I thought of staying here for a while and wait for the rain to lighten up a little or  I could just run for it. Running for it seemed a good idea because it was starting to get a little chilly, but then i remembered I was a long way from the house. I tried my phone again but nothing. It's really getting cold now so I rubbed my arms, trying to keep myself warm. I guess I'll have to wait so I sat back down the chair.

I waited and waited and waited. The rain didn't seem to even lift any bit, I think it even got stronger. I looked at my watch to see I've been here for three hours. Even worse, It was getting dark. How am I going to go back now. Although I was in the greenhouse, it was still really cold. Because I'm just wearing a shirt and some sweatpants, I didn't having anything to keep me warm. I began to shiver from the cold and rubbed my arms and legs  to try to warm up just a bit. After a few hours of waiting for the rain to  stop, I finally gave up. Knowing that even if it stopped, I still couldn't go back because I didn't really memorize the path I took and I really didn't want to make things worse by getting lost in a place like this.

I sat there for hours, I looked at my watch to see that it was now ten in the evning. "Weren't they even wondering why I wasn't there?" I asked myself. I decided that I should just sleep until the morning. I sighed and rested my head on my arms. I closed my eyes until sleep finally came to me.

Cam's POV:(after Sam left)

I went to my room and fell on it with an 'oomf'. I stared at the ceiling with a grin  on my face. I couldn't keep Sam out of my head. She looked really different and the same. The same in a way that she still had her brown hair, same eyes and same smile. Different in a way that she's grown. Her body was curved in all the right places and matured really nicely. But she seemed a bit uncomfortable being with me. Its like she was unsure of how I would react to seeing her again. After I talked to her and cleared the air, It was like a huge weight was lifted of my shoulders. I hated not talking to her. I knew I hurt her really badly, I promised her I wouldn't forget her and I kept that promise. I never forgot her but I did break my promise of keeping our connection. I was actually surprised to hear that she wasn't mad at me. I wished she was, maybe because it would take some of the guilt away. I fell asleep thinking of her with a huge smile on my face. Realizing that I can make it up to her while shes here.

The knocking on my door woke me up. "Dinner's ready sir." one of the helpers said through the door.

"Okay" I said to her. That was her signal to leave and so she did. A smile spread on my face at thought of seeing Sam again. She should be back from her run right now. I walked to her room and knocked. "Sam, dinner's ready." I stated. I waited for a reply but their was none. "Sam?" I asked again but again no reply. I twisted the door knob to find it open. I walked in and searched for her "Sam? You in her?" I said but still no reply. I went downstairs thinking that she might be there. I entered the dining room and sat down. She's not here. 'Where could she be' I thought to myself. Her parents came in and sat beside my mon an dad.

"Cam? Do you know where Sam is? I can't seem to find her. I tried calling her too but I can't reach her." Her mom asked.

"She said she was going for a run. I told her to follow a path through the lot. She should be back by now." I said. I was starting to get worried. It was starting to get dark out and she doesn't really know the place. She could be lost. I thought to myself of where she coud be.

"I'm sure she's on her way. Let's eat shall we." My mon said and we ate. While eating my parents and her's just talked and talked until we finished. I couldn't stop worrying  about Sam. When I was done I stood up and went to the living room to wait for her. I turned on the TV but not really watching. I sat there for a good two hours waiting for her to come in through the door but nothing. I heard a roar of thunder and realized that it was starting to rain.

I stood up and went to our parents who were still in the dining room waiting for Sam too.  "Mom I'm going out to look for Sam. She might be lost." I said trying to sound like i wasn't really worrying.

"I'll come with you." Her dad said. "She has a habit of exploring and getting lost." He said with a serious face.

"I'll come too." My dad said as he too got up. I nodded in response.

"Take care boys and hurry." My mom said. "We don't want her staying out there on her first night with us." My mom said.

I nodded and we went off in search of Sam. The rain was falling really hard and it was cold as the wind picked up. We followed the path and looked for her. Where could she be right now. I thought of places she could be in right now. She would've looked for a  place to stay wile waiting for the rain to stop. We went to the shed by the lake, the boat dock, and other place but came up with nothing, we were heading back to the house thinking that she might've gone back by now until it hit me. "I know where she is. I'm going back, you can stay here" I said as I started running. I ran as fast as I could to the place I know she would be in. In the green house. She would've seen it through the path, she could've stayed there. I knew where it was even in the dark. I pointed my flashlight and saw that the glass of the greenhouse reflected it. I ran to it and went through the door.

"Sam?" I shouted so she can hear me throught the nose of the rain. I searched for her until I got to the corner spotting her curled up into a ball in one of the chairs asleep but shaking like a leaf most probably form the cold. I was relieved to see her their but not totally relieved to see how cold she looked. I walked up to her and shook her slightly to wake her up but she didn't. I touched her arm and it was so cold then her forehead, she was burning up. She could easily gotten hypothermia in this cold wearing just sweat pants, a shirt, and a hoodie. I took of my jacket and raincoat and put it on her before I took hold of her arms and wrapped it to my neck so I was carrying her on my back. I lifted her so she wouldn't fall while I was running. She wasn't really that heavy so it wasn't that hard to carry her. I went back out the greenhouse and started to run back to the house. I reached the house soaking wet from the rain. I went in and went through the living room.

"I found her." I said to make our presence known.

"Honey your wet. Go upstairs right now and take a shower. Well take care of her my mom said.' I nodded knowing I wouldn't be that much help if I was sick too.
