Chapter 5:

Sam's POV:

I took a shower and dressed myself in a loose shirt and a pair of shorts that was just above my knee. I combed my hair and went down stairs. All of them were at the table at the backyard. Aunty Anna spotted me and said. "Oh honey your awake. Come and sit, breakfast is ready." I sat at the chair she was offering me. They were chatting about what they plan on doing today, I didn't listen and was busy thinking of what happened last night. I'm such a klutz. On my first night, I got lost. Nice going Sam. Youre really stupid Sam. I huffed. frustrated at myself.

"Good morning." Someone greeted, but I was too busy fussing over what I did last night. So I didn't greet back or glance at who its was. "Sam?" Someone asked. I didn't look. "Sam." Someone said again. So I looked at who could have been calling me. I saw Cam looking at me worriedly. "You okay Sam?" He asked.

"Uhm, yeah I'm fine. Just spaced out a bit." I answered. He just nodded and looked away. Our folks were talking about what we could do today. They were planning on taking us to almost everywhere in Seattle. "Is it okay if I stay in for today?" I asked. "I wanted to explore you house uncle Taylor if that's ok?" I asked. He just smiled at me.

"Sure thing kid. But you can do that some other time, you'd miss out on what were going to do today." He said.

"It's fine. We still have a lot of time to go to those place, but I wouldn't want to get lost in this place again." I said shyly. He just nodded.

"I'll take her around the place dad." Cam said suddenly. His parents looked at him shocked. "What? It's Sam after all." That made his parents more relaxed. What was that all about? Was it that strange that he'd be the one to take me around their lot?

After breakfast, they got their things ready and went off to who knows where. While me and Cam stayed. I was gping to head back to my room when Cam suddenly pulled my hand. "Let's get going on this thing." he said and started dragging me out of the house. What is it with him and draggiing me to all places?

"You brought me to a golf cart." I stated. "Why do we need a golf cart? Is this place that big?" I asked. He just scratched his neck and smiled.

"We can walk if you want, but then we won't get to see everything." He said.

"Let's take the cart." I said and hopped in. I did not want to spend another night in the outdoors. I had a lot of that last night.

He started the cart and we went on the path I took yesterday on my run. We passed the lots of trees, then the greenhouse. It looked so much better under the sun. Then we went on near a creek. He said that it would look better if we walked so we got out of the cart and hiked beside the creek. While walking his phone startd ringing but he wasn't answering it. "Your phone is ringing." I said to make sure he knows.

"I know" he aid.

"Why don't you answer it then?" I asked.

"I don't want to."

"okay." I said. The ringing stopped after a while but it started again after a few minutes. He still wouldn't answer it. "Just answer it." I said.

"It's nothing important." he said. So he just let it ring, again until it stopped. We kept on walking but then the phone went off, again.

It was starting to get annoying so I said annoyed. "Answer it already, it's getting on y nerves." He took out his phone and answered it immediately.

"Hello?.............what is it babe?" Babe? He has a girlfriend? I stopped in my tracks. Wait, why am I stressing over this. He should have one by now, His nineteen by the way. I was a few meters away from but I could still hear him talking "I can't do this right now..........I was busy" The sound of his voice was getting fainter and fainter but I didn't mind. I was walking slowly and aimlessly so I didn't notice that I went straight in the woods and I wasn't walking by the creek anymore. Oh shit. Not again, this can't happen to me again come on!!!! I was so frustrated. I tried to find my way back but nothing, I couldn't find the creek. I was actually heading deeper into the woods. I was really frustrated. How could this happen to me again. Come on. I did not want to spend the night in this kind of place agaian. Ugh!!! My eyes were starting to cloud and so I just curled up in ball by a tree and started sobbing. What the hell is wrong with me. Why does this keep on happening. Am I that unlucky? I just sat there crying like a baby. It seemed like I was in that place for just a short time, but when I checked my watch, it had been an hour and a half.I'm dead I said to myself. "SAAAAM!!!" I heard someone screaming my name. I sat up straight. "SAAAM!" There it is again.

"I'M HERE!!" I shouted.

"SAM?" The sound was getting nearer. I stood up and started walking to the sound.

"I'M HERE!!" I shouted again.

"WHERE?" The voice asked.l Now I could tell that it was Cam.

"HERE"I said. I tarted running to the sound.

"WHERE ARE YOU?" Cam shouted. I didn't say anything back. I just ran and ran. "SAM" The sound was getting nearer. Then I turned and hit something straight up. I fell to the ground with an umf. Wow that hurt. "Sam what the hell? Where were you?" He just asked while pulling me to my feet. "I was just on the phone and when I was done and when I looked back you weren't there anymore. I tried going back to see if you were there but nothing." He said as I cleaned myself up from the dirt.

"I got side tracked." I simply said as I sniffed. He noticed and scanned my face.

"Were you crying?" he asked.while still scanning my face.

"I wasn't." I said trying to hide my face.

"Look at me" he said but I didn't. "Sam" he said cupping my chin and tilting it up to look at my face. "You were. Sorry I was supposed to bring you around and I didn't keep an eye on you." he started rambling and that made me laugh. He stopped talking and looked at me again. "What so funny?" he asked when he noticed.

"You. All this rambling doesn't make sense." I said laughing.

He then smile at me and said "Uh. Sorry. I didn't know I was rambling." He said embarassed. "But are you okay?" He asked concerned.

"Yeah, I'm fine now." I said.

"What is it with you and getting lost?" He asked. Now I'm embarassed.

"I don't know. I just start spacing out and then wander wherever. Sorry." I said,

"Never mind. Come on, we still have the whole day." He said. He started walking but then stopped. He looked back at me and grabbed my hand. "Come here. You can't be lost again if hold on to you. He said.

We kept on walking until eventually we reached a small lake. They had a lake. We went over the dock and sat there with our feet in the water. It was quiet, except for the sound of water from the creek and the birds. But it didn't feel awkward. It felt peaceful. We sat there for a while until my stomach growled. Oh my gosh, this is so embarassing. Wait to ruin a moment of peace. Cam just looked at me for a second then started laughing. "Come on, let's get back to the house and get something to eat." He said and we went back.

We had lunch and then I went to the lounge to rest a bit. I sat there for a while until I wasn't feeling that full. The I remembered. They had a gym, that brought a smile to my face. I ran upstairs and changed into some sweatpants and a tee. I went to Cam's room and found him on the bed, doing something on his phone. "Cam?" I asked and he sat up.

"Yeah?" he asked

" You have a gym right?" I asked and he nodded. "Could you take me? I don't know how to get there." I said. He thought for a moment.

"Sure. But I'll join you." He said and got up from the bed to what I pressume is a closet. He came out wearing jersey shorts and a shirt. "Let's go." He said and we went to the gym.
