chapter 9:
Sam’s POV:
We got to the party around nine thirty. The party was already booming. We parked the car a few houses away then walked to the front of the house.
“Stay close to me okay. This place is a bit big so you might get lost. Again.” he joked. I laughed at that. I saw face light up a bit. He put his hand protectively at my back and led me in the house. It was packed. The music was blasting through my ears, People were dancing everywhere. Some were making out on the stairs and in the hallways. He led me through all the people to the patio where his friends were waiting for him. There were five guys around and two girls.
“Hey guys.” Cam greeted. The guys stood up and did the guy-hug thing. The girls gave him the hug and then he introduced me. “Guy’s this is Samantha.” he said “That’s Marcus” a blonde, “AJ and Pat” a couple sitting together, “Jeremy” he was black, “Michael” he was Asian, “Damon” he was a brown haired guy “and Amy” she looked really good.
“Nice to meet you.” I said. Immediately Marcus came at me.
“Hi Samantha. Do you want a drink?” He said offering me a beer. I got it and took a sip.
“Thanks.”I said. He then put his arms around me and that’s when it felt weird. I took off his arms off me and patted his hand. “Not that kind of girl pal.” I said and then they all started to laugh.
“Ouch” Aj said. “Someone just got blocked.” he said laughing.
“Dude quit it.” Cam said with a serious tone. What the hell. He was just joking around.
“Just playing man.” Marcus said putting his arms up innocently.
Cam eased up and took a beer from a cooler. I was about to sit on one of the chairs when my phone started ringing. I looked at the caller ID to see that it was my friends from back home. I answered it quickly.
“Cy?” I asked
“Sammy!!” They both screamed to the phone where I had to pull it away from my ears. “Hi Sammy. We miss you so much. How are you doing there? Are you friends with Cam again?” Cheyenne kept on talking and I suddenly miss them both right now.
“I miss you two guys. It’s been way too long since I’ve seen you two.” I said to both of them. “What are you doing that made you call me this time in the night?” I asked
“We’re just hanging here in Cy’s house. Her parents just went on a trip so we have the house all to ourselves.” Chey said.
“Cheyenne let Cy talk. I haven’t heard her voice since forever.” I said to her.
“Hi Sammy. I miss you.” Cy said in her shy voice. “Are you having fun there?” she asked. I looked around and smiled.
“Yeah I’m at a party right now with Cam. I miss you guys a lot right now. I wish you were here with me.” I saw Cam coming over. “Hey guys I have to go right now okay? I’ll talk to you guys soon.”
“Okay bye Sammy we love you.” The both said through the phone. With that I ended the call and put it back in my pocket.
Cam came and then said. “You okay?”
“Yeah I’m fine.” He led me to my seat and then I realized they were waiting for us.
“Well now that your both here. We can start the game.” Jeremy said. Wait what game.
“What game?” I asked.
“Right. Your new. So let me say this quick. This is a game our group plays every time we go to a party. We wait until everyone is here so that no one has an advantage of time. When everyone is here, we each take two shots. After that we go back in the party and look for a girl or a guy to bring back to this table in seven minutes. When the group says the person you brought passes in terms of looks, you only need to down a shot. But if he or she doesn’t pass, you have to down a bottle of beer and your out of the game. In case that everyone passes, we have to pick the drunkest one and then the pair is out. We keep doing this until there’s only two persons left. And that’s when the whole group decides who the winner is ” he said so quickly that I only got a few hints.
