You were a detective assigned with solving the case of the Meyer's Corporation. You had collected tons of clues and leads but still didn't have a solid conclusion. When it seems like a clue might lead somewhere, there is always something missing. On top of that, one of the detectives went missing for some unknown reason. Did that worry you?
Yes.
Will that stop you?
Yesn't.
You had questioned most of the current employees but never got a chance to get the former employees since they...well...got murdered.
There were only a handful of people left to check out...and that basement all of them seem to mutter about...
Same responses, different words. You sighed and looked at the elevator in dread. Then an idea crossed your mind, what if you hid nearby and followed the next person to said basement. You could catch the person in the act and get vital evidence. With the threat of losing your life but its a small price to pay for the truth. This company? Sketchy af. It was odd that human testing and such was allowed here. Maybe they bribed the law or something, they are a big corporation after all.
You turned to leave to make it look like the cost was clear when you bumped into someone. You step back while apologizing until you look up. Oh great, its him.
The owner of the sketchy ass place. Ever since day 1, this man has been watching you like a hawk. This placed him in top 3 of most suspicious people in the place. Its not like you didn't notice that he seemed to show up wherever you were or know something that you definitely didn't tell him.
"Hello again, Monsieur Meyers." You say sarcastically.
"Still looking for dirt on my company, mon amour?" He purred while flashing you his seemingly menacing smile. You internally cringed at the nickname. He had started calling you that due to a slip up on your part. Due to your constant visits to the place, he would sometimes call you nicknames to get a reaction. You usually roll your eyes and go back to work. But he succeeded, once. You were looking over some things when the mothertrucker snuck into the room.
"Que faites-vous, mon amour?" He whispered while looking over your shoulder causing you to jump a little from the sudden act.
"S-sir I don't speak baguette." You said as you pushed him back with one hand while you grabbed your notes.
But of course he noticed your blush and since then, he has called you that. There were times where you had to reassure your coworkers that no, you were not dating him.
"Don't act so confident, I might just end your whole career."
He chuckled," I highly doubt that dear." Meyers patted your head and walked off. Oh, was he challenging you? *jo jo music kicks in* In that case, you are going to have to make sure your plan works so you won't have to deal with this place and him anymore.
You had waited until everyone had left, then snuck back in, camera in hand. You hid nearby and prepared yourself for a long night. But someone entered the room and went through the elevator a few minutes after you hid. Well, at least you didn't have to wait all night. You waited until you were sure that the coast was clear before sneaking down some stairs you had found earlier in your investigation. They were hidden behind a wall but that didn't stop you from noticing the faint outline of a door. You make it to the basement.
You had expected a horror show down there but was greeted with a place fit for experiments. It was like a huge lab. The person was no where to be seen. Carefully, you walked in and looked around. Maybe there was a hidden room somewhere. Or a horrifying experiment gone wrong.
The sound of footsteps from directly behind you made you freeze. You didn't turn around, you knew who it was.
"So you finally decided to try and catch me in the act hm?" He said as he approached," What will you gain from this anyway? Well, besides not having to see me again but who would want that."
"I know damn well something fishy is going on here and that you might be behind the disappearance of one of our detectives." You replied while slowly reaching for your pepper spray," You can't blame me for wanting to do my job sir."
Silence.
"Perhaps not..." He quickly turned you around and grabbed your weapon before you could even blind him. You were even more alarmed when he caged you between his arms.
"Have you ever heard of the saying,'Curiosity killed the cat' mon amour?"
