Chapter 23- Fighting like a married couple

Monica wakes up the next morning and gets dressed she is going to meet a wedding planner with Adam. He still hasn't said a word since last nights incident. They drive to a cafe where they are meeting the wedding planner.
"Hello guys! My name is Julia!" Julia says
"Hello I'm Monica and this is Adam" Monica says smiling
"So what's your dream wedding location?" Julia says
"I want to get married in a hot country!" Adam says
"But I don't think we can do that" Monica says
"And why not?" Adam says confused
"Well we work 7 days a week and so does all of our friends how is the whole district going to get a week off?" Monica says getting angry
"We can work from the country" Adam says
"Oh so we can catch criminals from Spain?" Monica says
"Right! So how about on a beach here? Or in California which is only a 4 hour drive away meaning you would only need a maximum of 3 days off?" Julia says trying to clear the air
"That sounds perfect!" Monica says
"But how can we take 3 days off and not a week?" Adam asks
"We're not getting married in Spain okay?" Monica says
"I thought you would be all for it being Latina and all that? You know trying to impress your parents" Adam says coldly
"This is about last night isn't it?" Monica asks
"Well if your parents don't want me marrying you then I'll feel bad because your dad wasn't there to walk you down the aisle" Adam says
"My dad has been out of my life for 20 years! He only came on special occasions! I think I can handle my wedding day without him!" Monica says
"I'm sorry I can't do this today!" Adam says walking out
"Adam!! Our wedding is in 2 months!" Monica shouts
"I'm so sorry about this maybe another time!" Monica says to Julia before walking out
"What the hell was that?" Monica says getting in the car
"I just didn't agree with you!" Adam says
"For once someone didn't agree with you! Get over it!" Adam shouts
"We're getting married in 2 months Adam!" Monica shouts
"I told you it was too soon!" Adam shouts
"Your the one who set the date and I went along with it!" Monica says looking at him dead in the eye
"No monica! You set the date without even asking me! Your so selfish that you couldn't even see that!!" Adam shouts
"If this is all about last night then screw them Adam!" Monica says
"I'm not coming between you and your family and I'm not gonna make you chose me or them!" Adam says
"Your the one who asked to marry me!" Monica says
"Maybe that was a mistake!" Adam says as Monica's face falls
"No monica I didn't mean that! It's just we want different things!" Adam says touching Monica's shoulder
"No you've made it pretty clear!" Monica says taking off her ring
"Goodbye Adam!" Monica says handing him the ring
"So your just gonna call it off!" Adam shouts
"Clearly you don't wanna marry me!!" Monica shouts getting out of the car
"Do you know what! I don't!" Adam shouts as Monica slams the door
