Chapter 16- First Date!

Monica then hears a knock at the door and opens it. See sees Adam standing in a suit.
"You clean up nice!" Monica says laughing
"Not too bad yourself" Adam replies
They walk out to the car together and drive to a fancy restaurant
"Ohh fancy!" Monica says getting out the car
They walk in and get a table
"Lobster! I didn't know it was this fancy" Adam says
"Oh shhh!" Monica says laughing. They order there meal and talk for the whole night. They laugh a lot and learn a lot about each other. The pay for the meal and get back in the car. Adam then drives them to the beach and they get ice cream. They walk along the beach eating ice cream
"So what made you want to become a cop?" Adam asks
"It was my mum, she was held hostage when I was 12. The things they did to her were horrible and the police were doing nothing about it. So we went to the intelligence unit and they found my mum straight away and I thought I wanna do that one day and well here I am" Monica says
"I just did it for the money" Adam says laughing
They then walk back to the car and drive home. Adam walks Harper up the stairs into her apartment and she opens the door. She notices someone in her bedroom
"Who's that?" Adam asks
"I don't know!" Monica replies 
"Get behind me!" Adam says pushing Monica out the way
"Im a cop too you know!" Monica says annoyed
Then out pops a man
"Jerry?" Monica says
"Monica my love! How I've missed you!" Jerry says
"My love?" Adam says confused
"Get out! Remember the court case! Now leave!" Monica shouts
"Okay fine I'm going!" Jerry says storming out
"What was that?" Adam asks
"Crazy ex boyfriend" Monica says sitting on her couch
"Does this come with a story?" Adam asks
"Yep! I broke up with him about a year before I came here and he started going all stalker mode on me. He would send me pictures of me sleeping and packages of my hair. It got so bad that one day he came in and tired to stab me! I took him to court and filed a restraining order against him" Monica says putting her hands over her face
"Sounds rough" Adam says sitting next to her
"It was, but why is he back in Chicago? I can't deal with him again!" Monica says worried
"I'm sure it will be fine" Adam says
"I hope your right" Monica says
It's the next day and Monica is heading to the district. She has 4 missed called from Jerry and 10 texts from him. She arrives at work and can see a bit on her desk and it's from Jerry. She crumbles it up and puts it in the bin. They then get a call about a hostage situation but Monica notices that Adam isn't here yet but they leave without him. When they arrive on scene Harper can see Jerry holding a gun up to Adam in his house.
