Epilogue

Daryl's POV
"Daryl!" I turned around to see Jaxon running towards me.

I lifted him up and smiled at him, he had his moms looks, but his dads big brown eyes. "What's the matter bud?"

"Dads chasing me." sure enough Merle comes running around the corner, pausing when he sees me holding Jaxon.

"Get out run by a five year old Merle?" I chuckled.

Merle grabbed Jaxon from me and started tickling him. "This little buggers fast, ain't nothin gonna catch him."

"That's not a bad thing."

"It sure ain't," Merle chuckled.

Jaxon jumped out of Merle's arms and slapped his leg. "You're it!" He stared running away and Merle just shook his head, running after him.

I chuckled and went to find Alex, who was most likely with Carl. I thought about how we got here, how we found a place that was safe. After we found this place five years ago, all its been is a safe haven for us. There were still walkers, yes, but not as many anymore. I never believed that I would be married before all of this, let alone after it all happened. Ciara and I had tried for kids, but nothing ever happened, she wasn't sad about it, she knew it was pretty much impossible.

"Dad!" I snapped out of my thoughts and looked up at Alex. She ran into my arms and hugged me.

"How's my baby girl." I smiled.

She glared up at me. "I'm twenty dad, I'm not a baby."

"You'll always be my baby Lex." she rolled her eyes at me and I judged her. "So where's lover boy?"

Alex blushed, "I think he's watching Kaelyn and Martinez's girl." Caesar and Kaelyn had a little girl a couple years ago, Fiona, and Carl took a likening to her almost instantly.

"He still treatin ya good?" I asked her.

"Yes dad," she groaned. "We're fine, just like every other day you ask me."

I kissed her head. "Just means I love ya."

She hugged me again, "Love you too dad. Oh yeah, mom was looking for you."

"Was she now?"

"Mhm." she smirked.

"Why do I have a feeling you're hiding something from me?"

She held her hands up, "I'm not."

"I can tell you're lying Lex," I smirked. "But I won't ask." She smiled and waved at me before going to find Carl.

I walked back to our rooms, where Ciara most likely was. I heard footsteps behind me and turned around, only to have someone jump on me. "What the hell Ciara?" I laughed.

"I'm just so happy to see you." she smirked.

"I saw you this morning." I chuckled, placing her down.

Ciara smiled. "But I wasn't as happy then."

I glared at her, "What aren't you telling me?"

She dug around in her pocket and handed me a pregnancy test. "What the fuck do I want with this?" I asked her.

"Look at it."

I looked down at the test and I saw a plus sign. I looked up at her, "Does this mean...?"

Ciara had a smile that filled her whole face as she nodded her head. I grabbed her waist and spun her around. "You're pregnant!?" She nodded again, I kissed her face so many times I lost track.

"Stop Dare." she laughed.

I stood back and rubbed her cheek with my thumb. "You're gonna be a mom."

"You're gonna be a dad." she smiled.

I pulled her to my chest and hugged her. "I love you so much."

She looked up at me and placed a kiss on my cheek. "I love you too Daryl."
