Solitude where we are least alone

Prologue

She is laughing? Why is she laughing like that? Eren thought as he watched Annie laugh like someone just got a pie in the face.

"Annie?" Eren asked as The blonde began to finally calm down. She almost looked like she was forcing herself to look insane, the way that one might force a smile at their dad's friend who makes them uncofortable.

"Mmmmmhmmmm?" she said as she chuckled to herself, clearly NOT genuinally laughing to herself. She immediatly went from laughing to glaring at Eren and his friends (Mikasa and Armin were there).

Mikasa began to draw her blade however, Armin put a hand on her soldier, making her glanse back at him. He slowly revealed a red signal flare and she understood. As Armin shot it, suddenly there were about seven scouts on top of Annie, holding her arms behind her back while gagging her with a peice of cloth so she could not activate her Titan shifting ability. What they did not know was she had a small ring that she put on earlier when Armin had come to recruit her for her "help" to sneak Eren through Stohess District. She had a sneaking suspision that Armin, as much as she hated to think it, was plotting something.

In one swift move, Annie used her fingers on her right hand to activate the ring located on her right index finger, revealing a small, sharp spike. She proceeded to stabe her finger with it and in a moment it was all over. Lightning struck (literally) and all the scouts that were holding her were no more.

Mikasa had grabbed Armin and Eren a proceeded to dive into the underground tunnel that was meant to trap Annie. Annie proceeded to begin punching holes in the ground going for potshots at the three childhood friends. Mikasa nodded at Eren, signaling that it was time to end this once, and for all. Eren hesitated. Mikasa saw this and was less than happy. "Eren! How can you still hesitate with confirmation that Annie is, indeed, the female Titan?" Mikasa said. Eren was surprised. He thought to himself, why was he hesitating? He had undeniable proof that she was the enemy who killed Levi squad. Mikasa continued, "You know what she did. She killed Levi Squad. That includes Petra. I bet you did not know, but Petra had plans to merry the Captian. She told me the night before she died. You could tell that, believe it or not, Levi had feelings for her too." Mikasa added, "It is no coincidense that those two would disapear from time to time by themselves. Also, do you really think that when Levi is in his room sleeping, he moans like a woman that sounds like Petra? You have walked past the Captians chambers to get a snack or go to that bathroom and heard them going at it before. You know it to be true. Can you at least help Levi avenge her?"

Eren sighed. He knew what she was saying was true and had indeed experienced firsthand the two scouts nights together. Mikasa was absolutely right. He looked to see his fellow scouts struggling to hold the shifter at bay while Eren transformed. He finally decided. It was time to end this.

He bit down on his hand and was ready to kill Annie Leonhart.
