We changed into our pyjamas in our bedrooms. Looking longingly at Daisy's elegant night dress, I changed into my dull, ugly Deepdean blue striped pyjamas. I must get new ones as soon as possible. I gazed into Daisy's full size mirror as I brushed my unsightly dark brown hair.

"Could I please have the hairbrush?" She asked.

"Of course."

I watched her in the looking glass. The sun filtered through her honey-coloured locks, the brush going through them easily as anything. Her blue eyes were like sapphires glistening in the sunlight.

"Come on Watson! Let's go check on the boys."

I followed her out, and we knocked on their door.

"It's us!" I whispered.

"Who's 'us'?" Joked George in a whisper.

The door swung open and we saw Alexander sitting on his messy bed.

"Hi. Sorry it's messy." He said, running his fingers through his hair.

"I told you to tidy your side of the room, Alex!" George scolded.

"Sorry!"

"It's alright. I'll start tidying, you all sit on my bed." He sighed. "Your welcome."

"Thanks, George."

He sat down and patted the duvet next to him. I settled down next to him, and he put his arm around me. My heart missed a beat, and I didn't meet anyone's eyes as I opened up my new casebook.

"Alright." I began.

"Wait: is this really a case?" Interrupted George, making Alexander's bed. "Because we're only finding out information about Nancy."

"I suppose not." Daisy said, with a mournful sigh.

"Yes." I said. "So, what shall we call it? It can't be 'the case' of anything?"

"How about 'information about Nancy whatshername'?" Suggested Alex.

"Yes, I think so. What else could we call it anyway? But we shall need to find out her real surname!" I smiled.

"That can be the first thing we find out." Daisy said.

"And" George added. "We can find that out by spying on her's and Francis' walk in the garden at... what time was it, Hazel?"

"Half past 5." Said Alex and I at the same time.

We looked at each other and laughed.

"Alright, love-birds!" George mocked.

Alexander said: "Hey! George!"

And I fiddled with the cuffs of my pyjamas, bashfully.

"Anyway" said Daisy pointedly. "Hazel, write down what we know so far, and a plan of action."
