"Very nice work, Watson." Daisy remarked. "Now let us discuss the questions. Oh, Hazel you chump! Why didn't you write them in order of importance? Never mind I suppose. Let's start from the first one you wrote: Where did she learn to be so stealthy and quiet?"

"That is a difficult one" George admitted. "It isn't likely at all that she naturally moves in that way. Besides, we've seen and heard her walk normally. I'm really not sure."

"Perhaps she has a job that requires her to practise moving like that?" I wondered.

"I suppose its a possibility, but why would she sneak around like that at home? Unless she has gotten so used to it, that she can't but do so? But still, I can't think of any likely jobs that would make her do that."

"Well lets move on and we can't answer that question another time. Maybe it would help if we found out her profession if she has one." I decided.

"Next question:" Alex peered over the casebook. "Why don't they share a bedroom?"

"Well, perhaps it wasn't going too well between them?" George suggested.

"I see your point, George, although we need evidence, and most of what we've seen so far goes against that."

"Maybe their parents didn't want them to share a bedroom?" Daisy put in.

"Or, maybe it was Mrs Doherty who arranged for them to sleep in different bedrooms." Alexander said. "We know that she didn't like Nancy."

"Both of those work I believe." I said.

I closed my eyes in thought. I was exhausted. My knee was still stinging a little bit, but I was too sleepy to do anything about it. Maybe I could just relax for a second...

"What do you think, Hazel? Hazel?" I heard someone say.

"Hazel, wake up." Alexander whispered gently.

I opened my eyes.

"What? Sorry." I mumbled. "How long was I asleep for?"

I sat up, and realised my head had been resting on Alex's shoulder. I rubbed my eyes.

"About 1o minutes! It's alright though." George chuckled. "It is getting rather late. I think we should go to bed soon."

"No, no! Don't just go to bed because of me." I cried.

"No. I agree." Said Alex. "I'm tired too."

"Alright then." Sighed Daisy. "More detecting tomorrow though?"

We all agreed.

"Goodnight then." Said George.

"Goodnight." Daisy replied.

"Night." Alexander said to me.

We hugged each other goodnight, and I may have imagined it, but I could swear I felt him kiss my hair.
