Eliza was brought back from her on going train of thoughts, when the sound of keys were heard from outside her cell.

The door opened and a female guard appeared. She was a big woman and she had an angry expression on her face. Eliza couldn't help but think that it was just how the woman looked.

"Today is your lucky day, you're going to gen pop" the guard said and Eliza couldn't help but feel scared and relieved at the same time. She was glad that she could finally leave the small cell, but she wasn't that found of going into a cell block full of angry women.

"Get up, inmate" the guard said and Eliza took a deep breath before standing up, following the guard out of the cell.

She was lead up a flight of stairs and into a long hallway. The walk probably felt longer than it was but for Eliza it felt like they had been walking for hours. The hallway was empty apart from a couple of inmates in baige colored uniforms with cleaning equipments. Thankfully they were walking the opposite way, making it easier for Eliza to keep hidden behind the guard.

Eliza couldn't be hidden for long though, cause as they were passing a block that said B, women were looking at her through the little window in the wall. They all looked rather old.

The next block they passed, was the same. Women looking out the window at the new inmate that were walking down the hall. In that block they were wearing blue uniforms. Eliza noticed a woman looking out at her, her eyes were cold as stone. She had long hair and glasses that probably belonged to the 80s. Eliza looked away from the woman and kept her eyes straight forward, she didn't want to cause trouble on her first day in gen pop.

Finally the guard stopped walking in front of the with a sign that said D. The guard handed Eliza a baige colored uniformm which she took without a word. The guard opened the big metal door to reveal a lunch room full of metal tables and chairs, not to mention prisoners.

Eliza wasn't a girl who lacked confidence but right now in this moment she felt insecure. Everyone in the room was looking at her, probably because she was wearing the orange uniform, that the new inmates always wear.

"your cell number is 189, if you have trouble finding it, i'm sure one of these lovely ladies will help you find it" the guard said turning around and leaving before Eliza could say anything.

Eliza kept looking forward, as she started to walk towards her cell. Even though she tried not to be curious, she couldn't help but look around the place. There was so many different people in here.

One table stood out to her. Around the table sat three women. One of them were older than most people in this block. she had brown hair that looked kinda messy, like she had just woken up. The second was a young blonde girl who looked like a goth type of person. Her hair was messy too and she looked like someone on drugs. The third girl looked like she was in her 20s, she had short dark hair with dyed blonde hair on top, her sides were cut and it didn't look messy like the other two's did.

All three of them looked at Eliza, and she looked away from them, something was telling her that they had some kind of power here.

She kept walking until she reached her cell. Eliza walked inside to see a girl probably a few years older than her, sitting on the botto, bund reading a book. She didn't know they had books in here.

The girl looked up at Eliza, before smiling catching her off guard. She stood up and held her hand out for Eliza to shake "hello roomie, i'm snady nice to meet you. do you snore?" the girl said and Eliza looked at her for a bit. her blue hair and barbie like voice made the situation a little weird. "ehm, i don't think so" Eliza said shaking her hand. "and i'm Eliza Woods by the way" she said and sandy kept smiling.

Eliza put her things on the top bunk that was gonna be hers before looking at sandy. "so what do you do in here?" Eliza asked and sandy looked at her like she was an idiot. Well excuse me for being new to prison, Eliza thought.

"You get a job assigned.. then you work" sandy said and Eliza just nodded her head, it wasn't much help she got from her, but at least she didn't get a cell mate who's grumpy.

eliza changed into her baige uniform. The door couldn't close so sandy had to hold a blanket in front of her so nobody could see her.

one thing Eliza learned so far: prison had absolutely no privacy at all.
