It was a nice day, and you were sitting beside a pond in the centre of the town you currently were staying along with a bunch of other pirates. They all had gathered to celebrate alongside the strawhats and so the island was buzzing with energy. This place was known to welcome and celebrate pirates, so no one had to hide and could walk the streets peacefully, except for being stopped by a fan here and there.
A tumult at the other side of the court caught your attention, where you easily were able to spot a tall blonde figure, that you were more than happy to see. Yet your excitement was muted just as fast seeing by how many women he already was surrounded and how much he was enjoying this. "But of course, I will make a photo with you. Please, come near!". Cavendish, flaunting in the attention he was getting, kept posing for the cameras and hugging women. Every once in a while, one of them would fall to his feet, causing you to roll your eyes. He may be a good-looking and charming man, that much you could say but you didn't understand a behaviour like that. You just had too much dignity to throw yourself at anyone in that manner. Probably the reason that someone like him never would be interested in you.
Yeah, you had a thing for the pirate prince and seeing this made you jealous and sad. Below his arrogance, he was a righteous man that stood to his principles and would always stand behind his comrades. As an actual real born prince, he also was highly sophisticated and someone to have great conversations with. The only problem was his constant graving for any kind of attention. Not only that you never would be a woman to worship someone the way he was demanding it, you also barely were able to listen to him longer than a few minutes when he found to be left out. His arrogance may be oddly charming in many ways but in times like this you only wanted him to shut up. Partly because it was annoying and partly because it hurt you to have him lamenting about the lag of cursory attention from strangers while you were willing to really get to know him.
Unable to watch this scene any longer, you were about to leave when you heard a loud cry echo over the place "HEY!". Looking up, you saw none other the Luffy himself standing on top of a high building, hands formed to a cone in front of his mouth. "We are celebrating on the Sunny tonight for whoever wants to come!". Of course, everybody turned around and recognizing the infamous strawhat, they instantly ran towards him. A fact that Cavendish obviously wasn't happy with. He was shouting and whining to get back his glory but there was no use. Yet now that the people were gone, he was able to spot you "_____!" with sparkling eyes, he rushed to your side and grasped both of your hands. You blushed at him suddenly being so close and your heart gave a jump at his honestly happy expression. In that moment though, also Luffy had noticed you. "______! Cavendish!" he started waving like crazy and the huge smirk on his face that you couldn't help but giggle. Unseen by you Cavendish's face darkened. He didn't want you to smile at another man like that. "You're coming, too, right?". "Of course!". You waved back and he cheered at your confirmation.
"Have you seen what he is doing to me?" you looked back at Cavendish, who pointed towards the rubber boy, his face twisted in anger "He has taken away all my attention!". Even worth than the one of the people, he also was taking away yours. Sighing, you brushed off his hands. This was a track you already had heard way too many times. "That's just how things are sometimes. Live with it" "Live with it!", he threw his hands in the air and glared at the rubber boy. Luffy may be his Captain in some way but there still were things that couldn't be "He already had done this too many times. He-" but when he turned you weren't standing there anymore but already had started walking away "Where are you going?". You just waved without stopping "See you later, Cavendish". "But _____" He remained standing there, silent and cursing himself that he simply was unable to connect to you.
