TW: attempted suicide mentioned.
Since the breakup with Taeyong, Grace didn't know exactly what she was supposed to do. She was no longer in a relationship with him yet they were in the same group. Could they even go back to being friends?
When Taeyong had brought up the topic of them breaking up. Grace didn't want to. She felt like she could try harder.
However, his words brought her to reality. It was true that they were hurting each other even if they didn't mean it. It wasn't healthy for them. Taeyong understood that after his chat with Minho.
She needed help; professional help.
However, there was still a stigma about mental health in Korea. Grace wasn't that popular to have something bad happen to her.
When discussing with the company, they understood that the breakup wouldn't affect the group positively. There would be rumors always; speculating the reason for their breakup.
That was why SM was considering her role in NCT. Grace had a successful solo career outside of NCT, and her role in NCT wasn't a big one, to begin with.
The addition of new members would only lessen her value as a member of NCT. They didn't have any plans of making a female unit. SM had just recently debuted Aespa, so they were the only females that the company was focusing on.
Grace was becoming like a backup for them.
There were many meetings discussing Grace's potential as a solo artist and how the NCT couple breakup would affect the group.
Taeyong and her were called upon by their superiors. They wanted to make sure that neither of them would cause any problems for the company once their decision was finalized.
Grace was cast aside as an NCT member and was given more solo activities.
She had joined Minho on The Return of Superman and visited the Park Family in Uslan. The response was great; many people starting to see Minho and her as a potential couple.
SM took advantage of that and allowed her to once again join Minho in taking care of the Park siblings for a football match of their father's.
By then, the news of their breakup had been made public. SM specifying that Taeyong and her had been broken up before she filmed the Return of Superman with Minho.
It almost seemed like the company was now pushing her onto Minho.
It was ironic as the company was the reason they had split up three years ago in the first place. Grace found the whole world ironic.
Minho seemed to watch everything unfold in front of him.
Grace had cried in his arms in secret many times before and now he could tell that all the stress of being an idol was becoming extremely difficult for Grace. She couldn't bear with it any longer. This was causing him to worry.
He was worried that Grace might do something that she would regret and also hurt her members as well.
And he was right in doing so.
The next thing he heard was that Grace had tried to take a large number of sleeping pills.
Grace had tried to commit suicide by overdosing on her sleeping pills.
