Grace has been a trainee since the age of 11, beginning in YG before moving on to SM Entertainment.
She was a well known dancer who was a well rounded dancer in everything. She was labeled as a main dancer of the groups she was always put in.
She was introduced as part of SM Rookies in 2014.
Grace was a popular SM Rookie, she was released as an SM Rookie around the same time as the Red Velvet members. Fans were saying that there was a possibility that Grace was actually in the lineup for Red Velvet but got cut. When Yeri was added to the group, fans were wondering about the SM Rookie known for her body portion and cute face and dance skills.
Grace was actually up for the final lineup of Red Velvet but due to an injury was cut before debut.
As an SM Rookie, she met Taeyong and Yuta, they bonded over their dancing.
Grace is the closet with Yuta because of their common interests and the fact that Grace always makes him feel at home.
When it was announced that Grace would debut in NCT U, she was glad that she finally able to debut.
A while later, she found herself debuting in NCT 127 alongside some of the members of NCT U.
Grace's life as an SM Rookie wasn't glamorous when the other female trainees found out that she would be debuting in NCT where she was the only girl amongst boys.
They used to bully her, not including her in anyway when it came to assignments. Yuta and Taeyong always stuck by her side. The female trainees were crushing on Grace's future members, which often led to her being conflicts between her and the other trainees. They called her names which Grace mostly tried to ignore. However, it soon got physical. They were confront her in the female bathrooms where they knew weren't any cameras and no male trainee wouldn't interfere.
Wendy and Irene found her and stopped the trainees. Since they were their sunbaenim and already debuted as Red Velvet, the trainees were afraid that they would tell. Irene and Wendy helped her against the bullies and told her to not let anyone make her feel that she was worthless.
Most of her experience as a SM Rookie was one of her happiest and saddest memories. Being surrounded by NCT and NCTzens make her happy and she knows she wouldn't be the same without the members.
NCT is her soul.
