"Fainting spell," said Dr. Bernard, pulling off his glasses as he sits up from beside Lucinda's body. "Unfortunately, it may be the first of many." She was now asleep, the Anderson's surrounding her on the bed, all except for Braxton, who took to pacing the room and biting his thumb nail.

"Really, it's quite minor-" Braxton scoffed at that.

"Like hell it is. Her heart faltered. The baby's did, too. I heard it."

Dr. Bernard sighs, hooking his glasses into the collar of his shirt. "Unfortunately, Alpha Anderson, there isn't much that can be done about this-"

He growls at that. "Of fucking course. Let me guess, is it the norm?" He asked mockingly, his father sending him a glare.

"Do forgive my son, doctor. He keeps losing his head, and he never seems to remember how much you're going out of your way to help us..." He narrowed his eyes at Braxton, who rolls his eyes, turning toward a corner of the room to attempt to calm himself down, as per his mother's request via their link. "It's just frustrating. Is there really nothing any of us can do?"

Dr. Bernard thins his lips, slowly shaking his head. "Things may get worse, I'm afraid. She'll continue to lose her energy and she may have some more spells as the due date approaches. Often times it's unexpected or unexplained. Try to keep her off her feet for too long, so if she has a spell she won't suffer a fall. It could do a great deal of hurt to the baby. Someone ought to be with her at all times of the day going forward, to monitor and keep track."

Braxton massages his temples, he would have to call Seth to have him take over in case he was absent. Lucy was his wife, he put her in this position, after all. It wasn't something she explicitly asked for. While it was expected of her, no one suspected it would happen this soon. There was no time to brace themselves at all. He should at least be the one to monitor and take care of her as the due date approaches.

"Try getting her to eat something light, she doesn't have to stay cooped up and miserable in this room until he's born. Comfort is her best option at the moment. Let me know if she's experiencing any other symptoms. I'll be a call away." He packs his case, offering a friendly smile at the family before leaving, escorted out by a couple servants.

A collective sigh fills the room once the front door was shut. Braxton wordlessly approaches her body on the bed, lying on her side. She was still a bit pale, but otherwise seems fine. Her breathing was normal again and it was quite the relief. He strokes her head soothingly, feeling her relax beneath his touch.

"We're nearby if you two need anything, alright son?" Marlene granted, ushering Laurence and Brooke out to give the couple some time alone. Braxton watched his mother shut the door behind them, turning back to his wife. "Gods, Lucy..." He shakes his head. "You scared the living shit out of me." Never had he felt his heart plummet to the pits of his stomach as it had fifteen minutes before, when he'd caught her before she could fall. He was glad he went up when he did, who knows how badly she'd be injured if he wasn't there to catch her? The thought deeply disturbed him.

She whimpers, stirring and holding her bump. Aesir was squirming inside, moving energetically. He sighs at the sight, her eyes snap open and she gasps in pain. Braxton heard the rough thud. It would be amusing if she wasn't caused so much pain by it.

She turns toward him, rubbing her eyes. "Braxt..." She seemed a bit too weak to speak. He offers her a gentle smile.

"How're you feeling, Lucy?" He asked gently, moving his hand to her back to give a soothing massage. He wouldn't be surprised if he'd accidentally bruised it or caused her to be sore from when he rushed to catch her.
