He was still here. The security of their bond was as strong as ever. Despite all the bruising and abrasions all over, sticky crimson painting his ivory skin, dampening his bronze hair. She couldn't keep her eyes off him, hardly remembering to respond to the urgent inquiries from medical staff. She stared at his large hands, crowded with closing lacerations and puncture wounds. His callused palms coated with his own blood.

Dr. Bernard had him sitting, it took quite the bit of convincing before he was agreeable. He kept insisting Lucy be treated first, though to his bemusement she maintained that she was fine. Bernard instructs him to tilt his head back, Lucy watched her husband softly pant. She studies all the crimson claw marks on his bare chest and forearms. They were mostly closed, though they could only heal so much on their own.

Braxton huffs unevenly, cringing when Bernard squeezed clear liquid into his eyes to flush them out, and red rivers trailed down his face. A lot of blood had gotten in his eyes, having trailed from a cut on his head. Bernard had already determined it wouldn't need stitching, it having already closed on its own.

Jooyoung kept fretting over Seth, he was constantly reassuring her he was just fine, though the stitching along his thigh made him wince and squirm. He kept telling Joo not to cry, the only thing keeping him from touching her were the splotches of blood peppering his skin.

Laurence hissed beside Lucy, cursing under his breath while Jan applied antiseptic to the deep claw marks on his back.

Braxton squeezes his wet eyes shut, forcing the last of the blood from his eyes. He blinks, his sage eyes landing back on Lucy stood at his side. She hugs herself, the ghost of his arms around her body making her yearn for his warmth again.

She takes one of the towels Bernard had brought, dabbing at the pinkish streams on his face. She's careful not to be forceful, in case the tiny scratches on his face still stung. His gaze bore into her deeply, neither of them were sure what to say just yet.

Bernard thins his lips, pushing up his glasses as he tries to determine the next injury to address. Across the room, Seth grunts, wincing and holding his breath when Camella popped his elbow back in place. It got Jooyoung teary all over again, and she only started to calm down when he took her hand in his good one. She didn't care about the gore staining it.

Laurence took it upon himself to readjust his own dislocated fingers, managing only a suppressed groan. "How's Atreus?" He asked, looking up at Lucy. His eyes were teary from the stitching in his back, he winces as he clenches his injured fist.

Lucy looks back at him, Jooyoung having placed him back in his cot. She sighs to herself, relieved to see him asleep, he seemed exhausted when they returned to her room. Despite all the chaos that had ensued. All the medical staff were running around repurposing any and every room they could to help more people. You could hear alphas being operated on throughout the whole hospital, their groans and grunts filtering through the walls.

"He'll be okay," she determined, giving a grateful look to Jooyoung. She returns to her husband, his gaze hardly left her, he was staring at the bruising on her body, small scratches that hardly needed attention.

Laurence nodded, she felt his worried gaze on her, too. When he and Seth were rushed to her room they'd been perturbed by her appearance, baffled she'd left the room. Braxton hardly offered much explanation to them, he seemed to still be trying to understand for himself. With so many eyes on her body, she wanted to squirm. The rest of their inquisitive gazes felt more aversive than the blood that still clung to her skin.

She wordlessly wiped at the dried blood on her husband's face, so much of it was in his hair. Braxton used his good arm to reach up for her hand, holding it in place. "Are you okay, Lucy?" He asked sincerely. His deep voice reverberated, made her feel its resonating vibrations. It had her heartbeat quaking her chest.
