Chapter 9

Lisa POV

"Lisa," Jisoo called and motions her hand to one of the monitors here inside the van and gave me a piece of paper with numbers written on it. "Please enter the code there."

"What are these for?" I asked her as I hurriedly type these alphanumeric codes.

"We're going to connect to the cctv camera of the café," she replied as she is also focused on her screen.

"Right, it's almost done," I replied while I input the remaining line of codes left as the back door of the van opened, revealing Jennie who is breathing heavily.

"She's not there," she said as she steps inside.

"Yeah we heard through the comms," Jisoo replied as she watches the loading bar to reach 100% complete. "Here, we now have access to the cctv and their data."

Jennie and I then go beside Jisoo as she searches for the recent recording with the time when Chaeyoung was there.

"There!" Jennie pointed at the screen where Chaeyoung enters the café earlier.

"Okay, hang on." Jisoo said as she increases the playback speed of the recording. "Got it."

We watch Chaeyoung getting up from her seat and looks like she's looking or watching for something.

She then moved her chair and started to walk away from the table.

"Looks like she saw someone and followed?" Jisoo said as she switches to another recording of the cctv located at the back door of the café.

There, we saw Chaeyoung just walked out of the café completely.


"What was she thinking?!" Jennie exasperatedly let out as the back door of the van opened once again revealing a blonde haired lady.

Roseanne POV

"Where have you been?!" Jennie yelled at me as I hop inside of the van.

"I- I was just trying to follow a car," I stuttered at the sudden outburst of Jennie and the other two just looking at me waiting for answers. "And-"

"You know what?!" Jennie cut me off as she sit and glared at me before looking out of the window. "Save your explanation, Roseanne. Let's get out of here first."

Roseanne. She calls me that whenever she's mad or worried.

"I- okay," I sighed and sat down beside her and heard Jisoo clearing her throat as she steps on the gas.

Lisa then just looked at me knowingly and nodded. Trying to encourage me that whatever explanation I have will be acceptable and ease the tension between Jennie and I. I just gave her a tight smile then looked down at my pair of sneakers trying to distract myself from this awkward atmosphere knowing it's my fault.

We are now seated here in the living room and Jennie just crossed her arms looking at the flower vase beside her, trying to avoid me.

"Go on, Chaeyoungah," Lisa smiled at me.

God, thank you for giving me this sister in my life.

"I-uhm," I cleared my throat and started to look at them.

"Yeah uhm... I was sitting at the café and saw this familiar black car at the back door so I stood up and walked towards it. But as I was already near at the back, it started to sped away. And I got out of the café-"
