ENJOY MY LITTLE PEAHENS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can hear the truck tires coming up the gravel road
And it's not like her to drive that slow, nothin's on the radio
Footsteps on the front porch, I hear my doorbell
She usually comes right in, now I can tell
Marinette parked in the driveway at Wayne manor. But this time wasn't like the last several time she'd come over, so she rang the intercom to be let in. No music was playing on her radio. She didn't even carry her usual smile on her face.
Here comes goodbye
Here comes the last time
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
The first of every tear I'm gonna cry
Here comes the pain
Here comes me wishing things had never changed
And she was right here in my arms tonight, but here comes goodbye
Bruce greeted her at the door wearing the same expression as she was. He looked like he hadn't slept in months even though it had only been  three weeks since he last slept. You could tell that he'd been crying.
Marinette gave Bruce a comforting hug. Behind him was Jason, Tim, Damian, Cass, Stephanie, and Duke.
I can hear her say I love you like it was yesterday
And I can see it written on her face that she had never felt this way
One day I thought I'd see her with her daddy by her side
And violins would play here comes the bride
As she entered the manor she spotted the two people who she didn't want to see,  Barbra Gordon and Kori. Her late fiancee's exes. The two glared at her with pure hatred. But she ignored their glares, she didn't come to start a fight with them she came to mourn the loss of Dick Grayson. Her love. Her life. Her best friend. Her soulmate.
Here comes goodbye
Here comes the last time
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
The first of every tear I'm gonna cry
Here comes the pain
Here comes me wishing things had never changed
And she was right here in my arms tonight, but here comes goodbye
They left for the cemetery in silence. Once there in front of an angel surrounded by bluebells and white mums was Richard 'Dick' John Grayson laying in a mahogany casket.
Why does it have to go from good to gone?
Before the lights turn on, yeah and youre left alone
All alone, but here comes goodbye
Marinette couldn't get any closer to his body before bursting into tears. She loved him more than anyone else who'd ever entered her life. And now he was gone taken to soon after Lex Luthor killed him in malice.
Here comes goodbye
She shakily walked towards the casket and grasps Dick's hands that were cold to the touch.
Here comes the last time
Marinette's heart felt broken as she looked onto her late fiancee's peaceful face as he laid there in the casket.
Here comes the start of every sleepless night
Ever since that night she couldn't sleep because he'd be there waiting for her it was like fate was taunting her with a life she could never have.
The first of every tear I'm gonna cry
Here comes the pain
Large wet tears raced down her face as she leaned down towards his forehead and placed one final kiss on his forehead.
Here comes me wishing things had never changed
"I'll be fine Dick. I'll teach our child every thing about their father I swear that to you " Marinette whispered in his ear.
And she was right here in my arms tonight, but here comes goodbye
She righted herself after a long pause. She looked back on that night  that he died if only she had the  courage to tell him that when he came home maybe she wouldn't be saying Goodbye for the last time.
