Tomorrow was a big day, my family were all leaving to go to the UK. I was very upset as Makkah was the place everyone loved. I am really going to miss this place but alhamdullilah I am lucky. My aunty lived there so we would live with her until we move out. I don't really know this aunt but over the phone she seems friendly.
I wondered about how the UK would be. I had a bit of an idea as my aunty told me a lot about it like it was always quite cold and also the houses were beautiful. She owed a 7 bedroom house, which was just enough for us. I started to feel a bit lousy so I quickly read my prayer and fell asleep...
Morning came, and I was all ready! We left at 6 as our flight was at 8:30am. I was quite excited but also quite upset- mixed emotions :)
I climbed into the bus and all my sisters and brothers followed on. Sisters Ikra and Iram sat next to each other and Ismaeel and Is-haaq sat next to each other. My mum and dad asked me to join them on the 3 seater but I said I was ok sitting behind my sisters. I sat next to a white girl who had long blonde hair and big blue eyes. It seemed as if she was alone,
"Are you ok?" I asked. She nodded nervously, I asked what her name was and she replied in a sweet voice,
"Rose."
"That is a sweet name, how old are..." Before I carried on, a slim lady called her to sit next to her on the other side. The small girl nodded and went straight away. Something about the lady told me to stay away but I couldn't resist it and thats when I made a mistake.
"What was wrong with her sitting here? She was talking to me fine." I said.
"But I cannot trust anyone. Especially people like you." The lady answered. All eyes were staring at me, I understood what she meant by this but I knew it was the wrong thing to answer back. However, I had to defend myself and my religion.
"People like me? Your no more than me and I'm no less than you so I don't know what makes you think your any special." I quickly answered and turned away. Everyone gasped, including my parents. I was in deep trouble, I thought. The lady mumbled something but said no more.
After a while, we had reached the airport and I gave a quick smile at Rose, to my surprise, she smiled back and went towards the USA department. What was she doing in Makkah? Very unusual...
We took a seat and waited for my dad to come back with the luggage gone through however, he took a very long time. My mother went and told us to stay where we were while she goes and checks on what was happening.
"Bravo sis!" Exclaimed sister Ikra, "You really stood up for Islam, I'm proud."
I gave a smile and started opening a packet of crisps for Is-haaq.
A while later, mum and dad came back and told us we were running late! It was 8:15 and we hadn't gone through the security department yet. My father was panicking and I quickly said,
"Father, please don't worry, Allah (SWT) is with us and inshallah will help us out."
My dad smiled and we were taken straight to the aeroplane as there was no time.
I sat down, huffing ad puffing and guess who I was sitting next to? Rose! She had her head in her arms and when I asked her what was wrong, she told me that she didn't want to go to the USA. I told her that she was heading to the UK and she told me to click the maps on the mini TV in front of us, it said destination: USA.
We were on the wrong plane...
