-Chapter Twenty Four-

༺༻꧂

Caesar was laying in his bed around a week later, he was healing pretty quickly due to Joseph using Hamon to try help him out.

A doctor had to be sat beside Caesar's bed regularly, making sure he was alright. The constant presence of a somewhat 'stranger' made him feel uncomfortable and irritated. He couldn't do any private things by himself now that this doctor was here.

Not that he'd ever admit to having 'private' time to himself, if you know what I mean.

Turns out his leg was indeed broken, his arm dislocated, along with his wrist and a fractured ankle.

The Italians usual blonde, neat hair was now messy and unkempt on the pillow lifting his head, his skin was soft but the good thing was, it wasn't pale. He still had some tan colour to him, meaning he was definitely getting better.

"Excuse me sir? I'd just like to let you know that I am completely fine okay! I don't need anybodys company and I'm barely even injured anymore!" Caesar exclaimed, huffing and rolling his eyes.

The doctor chuckled and shook his head, "Unfortunately, that's not true, Mr Zeppeli, although I like your enthusiasm of wanting to heal quickly," The doctor smiled and Caesar and scribbled some things down on a little note pad he had.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door to Caesar's bedroom and a head appeared around the corner of his door.

"Ah, Caesar, your friend is here. I shall go downstairs and have a chat with your father about the condition you're in whilst he visits," The doctor smiled and left the room calmly, pushing his glasses up his nose.

Joseph smiled and slid into the room, closing the door behind him as he shuffled over to sit on the edge of Caesar's bed

"Heyyyy, Caesarino! How're you doing?" He asked, scratching the back of his head as he looked at Caesar's exhausted figure. He seriously looked a mess, god knows how he'd react if he saw.

"I'm fine, Joseph. I don't need to be given anymore medical help," He grumbled, folding his good arm over his chest.

"Thats a lie, have you seen the state you're in?" The brit chuckled and sat cross-legged at the end of Caesar's bed.

"What? Do I look bad?! They haven't let me look at myself, I feel disgusting too because they haven't let me shower because I could slip and hurt myself and I'm still uneasy or something and I've just been having to use deodorant and they didn't let me change clothes please tell me I look okay?!" Caesar's heart thumped in his chest and he tried to push himself up using his good hand.

"You look... Well.. You know.. You... You loooook.."

"Spit it out!"

"You look..." Joseph sighed and looked down nervously before looking back up.

"Give me a mirror!"

"You sure you want a mirror?" Joseph reached over to grab a little mirror, holding it by the stick as he stared at himself.

"Joseph, dallo a me prima che urli, dio dannazione!" Caesar snatched the mirror from Joseph's hands and his eyes widened when he saw himself in the reflection. His eye twitched and his lips slightly parted.

"Aha.. Well.. I mean.." Joseph trailed off, hesitantly pulling the mirror away from Caesar.

"I look a mess.. I.. I... How the hell is anyone gonna like me if I look like this?!" Caesar stared up at the ceiling in dispair.

"Oh come on, the good thing is, you'll be able to fix yourself up in a few days when you're fully recovered!" Joseph smiled and ruffled Caesar's hair, pushing it back slightly as he whined.

"It's not fair! I can't do anything!" Caesar frowned and glared at Joseph who chuckled.

"You're acting even more immature than me right now, and that's saying something, especially for you," Joseph put his palm on Caesar's forehead, feeling it heat up, "Don't tell me you have a cold too? Unbelievable," He chuckled quietly.

"Whatever!"

"This explains why you're so grouchy today, huh?" He muttered, standing up and walking to the bathroom. He grabbed a face cloth and wet it under the water, squeezing it out before walking back into Caesar's room. He placed it on the blonde's forehead and pushed his hair back again, watching him stare up at him tiredly.

"You need some goddamn rest, sometimes you really work yourself up too much, even when you're forced to lay down all day," He chuckled, turning on the fan that blew at Caesar.

"Mhm," The Italian hummed quietly and rubbed his eyes, when he opened them again, he saw Joseph had turned his lamp off.

"Go to sleep. I'm gonna stay here," He gave him a comforting smile and thumbs up, making Caesar shrug.

"Fine..."
