-Chapter Ten-

꧁༺༻꧂

Three days later, Joseph was walking down the school hallways with the necklace tucked into his shirt and his collar flipped up, however it was useless as everybody at somehow found out about it and new Caesar would have to kiss the boy. He groaned as another person laughed when walking by, muttering curse words under his breath before accidentally running into someone.

Their bodies collided and Joseph felt himself be knocked back onto the floor. The other person hadn't fallen over, just stumbled back a little, running a hand through his blonde hair.

Apparently it was Caesar who'd made them bump together, making a large crowd form around the two in a circle, caving them in as they started to chant 'kiss, kiss, kiss'.

Caesar huffed and dragged JoJo up to his feet, trying to make his way through the crowed yet he failed miserably. He was shoved back into the centre of the circle with Joseph.

Both the boys hadn't been able to go anywhere without being spoken to about the necklace, causing them to just hang out a little less than normal

"I'm not going to kiss Jo-"

"He'll die if you don't."

"Yeah, he'll die," The students sneered, making Caesar furrow his eyebrows. The necklace had tightened a little on Joseph, yet he chose not to say anything.

"Can we please stop saying I'm going to die, i-"

Suddenly, an ear-piercing ringing noise was heard blaring though the speakers, making everybody groan and cup their ears with their hands. It took them a few seconds to realise that noise was a fire alarm as the smell of smoke filled their nostrils, causing an eruption of screams to echo down the hallway.

Joseph furrowed his eyebrows and bit his bottom lip, the group scattered in the same direction towards wherever the exit was.

JoJo tried to slide through the crowd but felt everybody seem to shove him behind one another, eventually making him fall down to the ground and see only people's legs. He tried to stand up but was kicked in the back multiple times by mistake. He couldn't go anywhere, he didn't know what to do.

The smoke began to fill the hallways up, making a few people gag and cough into their elbows or a handkerchief, whilst Joseph just sat confused on the floor.

Caesar was already outside, standing on his toes and searching through the crowd for Joseph. He didn't know why it was hard to see him as he was nearly Caesar's height, making him furrow his eyebrows.

Mr Speedwagon began to gather his tutor around, that included Caesar, and he began to take the register

"Suzi?"

"Yes."

"Polnareff?"

"Yes"

It went on for a little while, passing Caesar's name before finally getting to Joseph's

"Joseph?"

No answer.

"Joseph? Joseph Joestar?"

No answer.

Speedwagon suddenly hurried off to Miss Lisa Lisa, a worried expression on his face as Caesar's heart thumped against his chest heavily as JoJo was nowhere in sight.

Inside, Joseph lay spread out in the hallway floors, there were no more people inside apart from him and he'd passed out because of all the smoke filling his body. The sprinklers started to spray down and Joseph's body was soaking wet, his breathing was rigid and he was unconscious.

When Caesar knew Joseph wasn't outside, a wave of anxiety washed over him. Without a second glance, he ran away from his line and towards the school again

"CAESAR ZEPPELI, STOP!" Mr Speedwagon called, but it was no use as Caesar was already inside the building.

He bent down on his hands and knees to try not get any smoke in his body, but it was extremely difficult to do so. Water droplets splattered all over his face from the sprinklers. As he crawled, he noticed a dark figure layed out on the floor, causing his heart to jump at the sight.

He quickly scurried towards it and recognised the figure as Joseph, pulling the boy into his arms

"JoJo.. Joseph.. I.. Cmon, we have to go," Caesar said, his eyes swelling with tears as he pulled Joseph through the empty hallways before deciding it'd be easier to carry him.

He picked Joseph up in his arms and took him bridal style out of the building, JoJo looked an utter mess, yet Caesar wasn't too bad. Once the sunlight hit them and fresh air was being breathed in, the Italian let out a sigh of relief.

Everybody saw the two come out and began talking to the teachers immediately, pointing at the boys.

Caesar placed Joseph down on the floor and saw the boys eyes slowly open, making a small smile appear on his face

"Hey, Joseph.."
