I woke up today, with an amazing feeling. It's gonna be a good day. Mom was finally coming home tomorrow and I couldn't wait. I got out of bed and I got dressed for the day. I wore my baggy long sleeved white top with my mint floral skirt.

I grab my bike and I begin biking toward the house. Once I get there, I head to the kitchen and I begin making french toast for the family. I was humming to songs as I cooked, as usual and I jumped when I heard a voice behind me.
"Hey," Holden greeted.
I blushed, remembering what happened yesterday and I replied, "Hi," softly.
"Can I help?" He asked me.
"Sure, you can cut up the fruit in the bowl," I say, motioning toward it.
"Okay," he replied. He looked at me, quietly.
"What?" I chuckled.
"You look beautiful," he says as he comes behind the counter and kissed me. I kissed him back as our tongues danced along each other. Once we pulled apart, I said, "Thank you." Wait that sounds weird. "For the compliment," I clarify.
He chuckles and says, "It's only the truth," as he gets the cutting board from the cupboard. We work in peace, as I continued humming to the music that played from my phone. Once breakfast was ready, I called out to Atticus and Noah, while Holden set the table. Since the incident, they always insisted on me eating meals with them.
I sat down next to Holden, as Atticus and Noah took the remaining seats. "How was the carnival?" Atticus asked me.
I lightly blushed as I said, "It was very nice. I had a great time."

After breakfast, Holden helped me out with the dishes and while we were talking, he caught me by surprise.
"I'd like to take you on a date," he said.
I dropped the spoon I was washing when I heard that. I quickly picked it up and put it into the drawer, as I said, "Really?" in surprise.
"Yeah," he chuckled, "I like you Nova."
"I like you too," I smiled.
"When are you free?" He asked.
"Um besides tomorrow, any day actually," I said. After I found out how much Atticus pays, Allegra made me lighten up my schedule.
"Okay cool. I'll pick you up on Wednesday at 8," he said.
I smiled as I said, "It's a date."

At around noon, I headed out to the ice cream parlor to tell Allegra the news. I headed inside the parlor and sat at the counter.
"Guess who has a date?" I squealed.
"No way!" She exclaims, "With who?"
"Holden," I say.
"Yes! My ship has sailed. I swear, ever since that boy saw you, he was head over heels for you," Allegra said.
I laughed, "He kissed me after telling me he liked me."
"Oh my goddd! You've been holding out on me! When?" She says.
"Yesterday, at the carnival," I say.
"I swear, y'all are a match made in heaven."
I laugh as I say, "Thanks. I have to get going now, I gotta get to the hospital."
"Ok, tell your momma I said hi," Allegra says.
"K, Bye," I say.
"Bye sweets."

I head to the hospital and like last time, Dr. Prentiss pulled me aside before I could head inside Momma's room.
"Hey Nova, I know you're here to visit your mum but I just wanted to let you know that you have to get your mum's medicine prescription. We already sent it to the pharmacy, so just stop by and pick it up."
"Okay thanks for letting me know," I reply before I enter Momma's room.
She smiles as she walks further down her office. When I enter Momma's room, she's sitting up and reading a book.
"Hi Momma," I greet.
"Nova," she says, "I've missed you."
"I've missed you too Momma. Are you excited to head home tomorrow?"
"I utterly cannot wait until I get out of here," she says.
I chuckle, "What book are you reading?"
"Just Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen," she says.
"That's a good one. Who gave it to you?" I asked curiously.
"Holden," she says nonchalantly.
"Really, when?" I asked, surprised.
"He came by yesterday before you guys went to the carnival together," she said, "He's seems like a really nice lad."
"Yeah he is," I say.

Once I left the hospital, I headed for the pharmacy.
"Hi, um, a prescription for Rose Stark please?" I say.
The pharmacist nods and goes to go get the prescription. While I wait, I look out the clear window and I can't help but think how everything turned around since I met Holden. He's helped me so much and I just can't believe how amazing everything turned out for me.
"Here it is," the pharmacist said, pulling me out of my thoughts.
I pick it up and I head home. I can't believe I'm genuinely happy now. It's been so long since I've been this happy. Honestly the last time I felt this happy was when Dad was still alive. And know, it's like I always have a smile on my face.
