It's been a couple days since Holden and I had that talk and we were honestly closer than ever. Momma was also getting a lot better now and now that I had all those hospital bills paid off, I didn't even have to work at the bakery anymore but I still kept my job there since I loved working there. Mom also decided to come with me occasionally to the Scott house to help out, even though I insisted I had it covered. She developed a nice friendship with Atticus and they often had tea together and talked.
I have to go to Holden's house today so I tiredly walked out of bed and went to the bathroom. Once I showered I got dressed for the day. I wore a burnt orange off the shoulder, long sleeved crop top and a pair of denim shorts. I tied my hair up into a ponytail with two outer pieces in the front and wore my casual white sneakers.

Once I got there I made breakfast and I headed up to Holden's room. When I reached his room before I entered, I could hear him talking to someone upsettingly on the phone. I knocked on the door, and came in once I heard him say, "Come in."
"Hey Moonshine," he said, as he hung up his phone and came over to me and gave me a kiss.
"Hi Holden," I said, "You okay? You sounded kinda upset on the phone."
"Yeah I'm fine," Holden replies, "It was just some work stuff."
"Okay then," I say, not wanting to push him for more, "I made breakfast, if you want some."
"Thanks babe," he said before taking my hand and heading downstairs with me.

Once we all finished breakfast, I headed up to the library and snuggled down with my favorite book. Once I was getting to the good part, I felt a hand run through my hair. I look up from the sofa chair, to see Holden.
"Hey," I say.
"Hi Moonshine," Holden says, leaning down to give me a kiss.
"Wanna read with me?" I ask, as I get up making room for him and I to cuddle.
"Yeah," he smiles.
"When she saw Park standing at the bus stop on Monday morning, she started giggling. Seriously, giggling like a cartoon character... when their cheeks get all red, and little hearts start popping out of their ears... It was ridiculous," Holden read to me.
"That's how I felt when I saw you too," I say.
Holden smiles to me, and lays another kiss on me.

I headed home after lunch to check on Mom. When I got home, I saw Mom on the porch reading a book.
"Hey Mom, do you wanna go to the ice cream parlor together? Like the old times," I say.
"Of course hon. I'd want nothing more," she replies.
I smile as I say, "C'mon."
We walk together as we talk about all the old times we had together. When we get there, we sit at the counter. Allegra was working a shift as usual, but this time Parker, her fiancé, was there.
"Hey Alli, hi Parker!" I greet.
"Hey Nova, hi Rose!" Parker replies.
"Hi Nova!" Alli greets, "How are you doing Rose?"
"I'm well," Mom responds.
"What can I get you guys?" Alli asks.
"I'll have a vanilla cone," Mom says.
"I'll have a cookie dough and chocolate chip cone," I add on.
Alli hands us our ice creams as the four of us begin talking together. We all missed each other's company.
While Parker and Mom were talking, Alli says, "Soo..... How's it going with Holden?"
I chuckle, "It's been amazing. He's such a sweetheart."
"I'm so happy for you Nova," Alli says, "Happiness looks good on you."
"Thanks Alli," I say, giving her a hug across from the counter.

Momma wanted to visit Atticus today, so after we got ice cream, we headed over to their house. Noah answered the door and happily greeted my mom, "Hi Rose! It's been awhile," he says. During the time when Mom worked here, Mom and Noah got pretty close. As Noah and Mom talked, I headed up to Holden's room.
Like this morning, I heard him talking to someone on the phone. I knocked on the door, and before he said "Come in," he hung up the phone after saying, "Fine."
"Hey Moonshine," he said to me, giving me a kiss.
"Hi Holden," I said, "Are you alright? I don't mean to pry but you've been sounding upset on the phone."
He sighs and says, "I have to go back to New York."
"What?" I asked.
"I want you to come with me," he says.
