Nova's POV:

"Hi Momma," I greeted as I came to her room to pick her up. "Are you ready to go?"

"Yes," she chuckled. 

The nurse handed me Mum's belongings and pushed Momma out of the hospital in a wheelchair. I helped Mom into our car and began driving.

Once we got home, I got Mom settled in bed, with everything in her reach. I didn't have a day off today, since I had a shift in the bakery. 

"So the phone is right by your bed, on your table. I left food and water there as well. If anything feels out of the ordinary, call me. I'll get here as fast as I can," I said.

Mom laughed, "Nova I'll be fine."

"Okay Momma. I'll be back soon," I say as I lay a kiss on her forehead.

Once I get home, I call out to Momma, "Momma! You still awake?"

"Yeah, I am hon!" She calls back.

I head into Mom's room and I lay down on her bed, next to her. "I got your favorite cookies from the bakery Mum," I say, yawning after.

"Thank you baby," Momma says, "Long day?"

I yawned again and said, "Yeah."

"Go to sleep honey. I'll tell you a story," she replies.

I close my eyes as she begins, "Once upon a time..." 

I never realized how much I missed sleeping in Mom's arms, while she told me a story. It was just like the old days, I thought to myself before I found myself fading into sleep.

Wednesday (Date Night)

"Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!" I freaked out. 

"Calm down!" Allegra said. I invited Allegra over to help me get ready and I got a fashion brain freeze. All of a sudden, I had no idea what I looked good in or what I even liked to wear.

"Ughhhh! Why would he even wanna date me? He's the CEO of Golden Section for god's sake. I'm just me. I worked jobs everywhere and I could barely get through!" I freaked.

"Okay, shut up," Allegra said.

"What?" 

"Shut up," she repeated, "What do you mean your just you? You're Nova Maeve Stark, the most beautiful and hardworking girl in this town. Anybody would be lucky to date you. Who cares if he's this CEO? Just enjoy yourself and have fun."

I sighed in relief and said, "Thanks, I needed that."

"No problem," she replied, "Now let's have a look in your closet."

After rummaging through it a bit, she found something. "Aha!" She said pulling out a mini navy blue, corset like dress, with a v neck. It had a lace top with bell pepper sleeves. It was perfect.

"Woah this looks amazing on you!" Allegra complimented.

"Thanks," I chuckled.

"Okay, now for hair," Allegra says.

"Good luck with that. This curly hair is unbelievably untamable," I complained.

Allegra laughed, pulling out her bag. She takes out a ton of curly hair products, straighteners, curling irons and sat me down in front of her.

After a while, she straightened my hair, then curled it, so it would be easier to style. 

(This is sort of how I imagined her hair now)

"This looks amazing Alli! Thank you!" I exclaimed.

She chuckled and said, "Anything for my bestie!" Allegra left soon after and I headed to Momma's room to say goodbye before Holden picked me up.

"Hey Momma," I greeted softly in case she was sleeping.

"Nova, honey, you look so beautiful! Holden won't know what hit him," she said.

I blushed and said, "Thank you Momma."

I give her hug and I say good night to her. As if on cue, the doorbell rings. I open the door, to see Holden, holding a bouquet of flowers.

"Hi Nova," Holden says, before pausing, "You look beautiful."

"Thank you," I reply, "You look great too."

"I got these for you," he says, handing me the bouquet.

"Thank you Holden," I said.

"Ready to go?" He said, holding out his hand.

I took his hand and we headed out.
