The Journal of Gybara Yamiku

It's been awhile since I've opened up this little journal! I figured I'd jump in here and jot down a quick summary of why this upcoming month is such an important month for The Rebellion.

As everyone knows, Halloween is a chaotic 24 hours where there are little to no rules. Leading up to that one day, however, we're busy prepping for all that chaos. Specifically, we're stationed at the portals and in the midway plane between Earth and Hell. Our primary job is to keep demons from bringing innocent souls and victims down into Hell. The angels do their best to kill demons on Earth, but there's no way for them to get every single one of them.

Every year, I'm accused of not trying to uphold the balance between good and evil. They say I'm on Heaven's side. This time of year is the worst to be leader of The Rebellion.

It's not about helping the angels keep demons off of Earth. It's about keeping innocent human (and some angel) souls out of Hell. If they weren't down here before Halloween, there's no reason for them to be here after the 24 hours are past. However, certain demons of high power use the excuse of Halloween - where Hell is open access and closest to Earth - to get as many souls as possible.

Hell is all about profits, and Halloween is treated like an open pinata that just got busted open. All the souls being scooped up and brought down here sickens me every year.

So, beginning mid-September up until the day before Halloween, my immediate team and I are busy setting up our strategy for fighting back against the crimes that day holds. This year, Sazorac and I both plan to be on Earth, monitoring for activity on a surface level. If it all goes as planned and the angels see that we aren't there to wreak havoc, it may set a precedent for future years.

I'll leave another update here once I have more information. We're still in the planning phase. We'll start implementing our plan of action the first week of October.
