You had just gotten done with a hunt. It was successful. You took that werewolf down, and Dean was ok- the mark didn't kick into gear on this hunt. You and Sam were exhausted, Dean appeared to be beat as well. You and Sam decide to head to bed. You fall asleep quickly, your head nuzzled in the crook of his shoulder as he strokes his fingers through your long flowing (y/h/c) hair.

All of a sudden, you wake up. Sam is not in bed with you anymore. You are really worried. You run down the halls of the bunker searching for him. You can't seem to find him anywhere. "Sam!" You shout, trying to stay as calm as possible. You look for Dean. He too is nearly impossible to find. It was the middle of the night, so you didn't think they would have gone out to get breakfast or anything. In that moment, a thought of doubt enters your head- a thought that maybe they left you. You shake that thought loose, and ignore it since you had worked through your problems with the boys. You reach the last room you hadn't checked yet in the bunker, and you scream at what you see.

"Dean! Sam!" You half scream half cry. Dean is tied up in the corner. He's ok, but clearly not going anywhere anytime soon. Sam, however isn't looking so good. Sam is hunched over in pain on the floor. You try to run over to him, when an invisible force sends a shockwave of pain through your whole body, and you collapse. You are still conscious, but now in the same position as Sam. Suddenly you see a shadow next to you on the floor. You muster up enough strength to look up at the thing creating the shadow. You can't tell what exactly it is, but based on the smell, you're guessing its a demon. All you notice is the piercing yellow eyes this thing had.

"Well, well, well. Our special guest has arrived." He taunted. "You're just in time for the final act of the show."

"What?" You manage to choke out.

"You're just in time to see your precious little Sammy and I have a little fun."

"Don't you dare lay a finger on him!" You say. You now had more strength and could actually talk.

"Too late princess. You can't do a thing to stop me." He says as he stands over Sam.

"No! No! Don't. Please!" You beg, just as the demon pulls out a sharp blade from his coat pocket and stabs Sam through the back.

You run over to Sam. "Sammy? Sammy?" You ask trying to convince yourself he isn't dead. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. " You kept muttering to Sam.

"(y/n). (y/n)." You keep hearing someone saying your name. It sounds vaguely like Sam, but it's not coming from his body. Suddenly you start to fade away from the Sam that's in front of you, and begin to see that you are laying in bed with Sam shaking you roughly. You awake with a start.

You take in a huge gasp of air, and you notice that you are sweating profusely. Sam stops shaking you, and simply looks at you, and lets out a sigh of relief. He lays back down next to you, propping himself up on his elbow. "You really had me worried there (y/n). You ok?"

You swallow hard. "Yeah. Fine. Just having a weird dream. No big deal. I'm fine." You say, trying to mask the fear you had.

"I know you're not ok (y/n). You kept shouting my name and screaming no, and thrashing around." Sam says. He could always tell when you were lying.

"Look Sam, I had a horrible nightmare. I don't expect you to get how horrible and realistic it was..." You try to continue, but Sam cuts you off.

"Trust me, I get it. Let me tell you a story I've never told anyone but Dean. A long time ago, I was dating this girl Jessica. Jess and I were madly in love. When we were dating, I kept having these nightmares. Every time I had one, she always died. She was on the ceiling burning, and dripping blood. Same way my mom died. I have a weird thing where my dreams can sometimes tell the future and come true. One night, I woke up to feeling drops of something on my face. That's when I saw her. Jess was on the ceiling being burned, and there's nothing I could do about it. So trust me, I know what scary nightmares are like. But you don't have to talk about them if..."

"It's fine Sam. Basically, I woke up and couldn't find either of you. I ran around the bunker and couldn't find you anywhere. I got to the last room left to search, and I saw you both. Dean was tied up in the corner, and you were crumpled up in pain on the ground." You are starting to cry as the pain of the dream comes flooding back all at once.

"Hey, hey, it's ok." He says as he runs his thumb across your check wiping away your tears. "You don't have to continue."

"I need to Sam. I'm terrified, and I need to tell someone."

"It's ok. You can continue if you're ready." He says soothingly as he pushes your bangs out of your face.

"Some invisible force shoved me to the ground and I was crumpled in pain as well. The demon, at least I'm pretty sure it was a demon, with piercing yellow eyes, was standing over me, and said some stuff along the lines of 'I had finally arrived and I get to watch him and you' and he was telling me how there was nothing I do can stop him. And. And. And." You start to stutter. "He shoved a blade right through your back and killed you, then disappeared. I shouted your name, and I wanted you back so bad. Then you called for me in real life, and I woke up." You were now in the midst of bawling your eyes out and it wasn't pretty. You just couldn't contain your emotions anymore.

"(Y/n), (y/n), (y/n). Calm down. Just breathe." He rubbed slow soft circles on your back as he spoke. You relaxed significantly. "It's ok. I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere. Ok?" You nod, still hyperventilating.

"Let me tell you something. That demon has no possible way of getting to us. That was the same demon that killed mom and Jess, and we finished him off years ago. He is gone and never to return."

"Then why did I have a dream about him? I had never heard you talk about him before."

"I don't know babe. Maybe you came across him in the lore once and it got stored in the back of your mind. Just know that we are safe from him."

"Ok Sammy. I was just so scared of losing you. I don't know what I would do without you. You are my one true love, and every second I spend with you, is precious and loved." Sammy starts to look teary eyed. "What's wrong Sam?"

"Umm. What you just said was exactly how I felt about Jess before she died. I was gonna marry her one day, but I never got the chance. I had always said I couldn't live without her."

"I'm sorry Sammy. I really am. I'm not trying to replace her, and I'm sorry you lost someone that close to you. I didn't mean to make you talk about it either. You deserve to have been happy with her, and I'm sorry that got ripped away from you."

"Hey, I love you. I know you're not trying to replace her. I am happy with you. Don't you ever forget that." He says as he kisses you softly on the lips.

" I love you too." You say back.

He lays back down on his back. You snuggle up with him, and lay your head on his chest. You listen to his heartbeat and feel his chest rise and fall with every breath. You fall asleep on his chest as he twists his fingers through your hair and eventually falls asleep as well.
