The next morning, you wake up. you rub the gunk out of your eyes, and the dry crusty drool off your face. You head down, planning on checking on how Dean is doing. Dean is nowhere to be found. You search everywhere in the bunker, with absolutely no luck. It's not like Dean to do this. He always leaves a note. Even when he's pissed off, and goes out to the bar or someplace, he still leaves a note. You frantically shake Sam awake in case he has any ideas of where Dean went. Not wanting to wake Sam, but realizing it's necessary.
"What's wrong (y/n)? " he asks
"Dean is gone. No note, no nothing" you reply. Sam quickly gets up, and you both dig through Dean's room and the rest of the bunker. Nothing.
You sit on the couch with your head in your hands and just cry. Sam notices and walks over. You don't see him join you on the couch, but you feel the weight shift in the cushion. He rubs your shoulder and calmly and softly says "we're gonna find him. Don't worry"
"Why shouldn't I worry Sam? You snap "It's my fault he left, and he's out there all alone and probably gonna get himself killed. His blood is gonna be on MY hands if he gets hurt."
"Don't be so hard on yourself." Sam says "we are gonna find him before anything bad happens. Ok?"
"Ok." You reply, not really sure that you believe him. You wipe away your tears, and you and Sam get to work at trying to find him. You start on the computer trying to find any leads Dean might have gone to follow, while Sam calls Dean's phone.
After a while of searching, you finally find a lead. On the outskirts of Lebanon, KS, which lucky for you is the city where the bunker is, there were a series of deadly attacks on the residents. That was the only place that had a lead that you could find in your hours of searching. Nothing in any other cities. He had to be there. At least it wasn't far. You told Sam. Just as you told him, he GPS tracked Dean's phone since he didn't answer. He was definitely there.
You and Sam headed there right away. You had to take your car since Dean took his Baby. You drive while Sam navigates. It's a short drive, but It's mostly silent. Neither of you saying anything, both of you wondering what's happened to Dean, and why he didn't leave a note. Suddenly, Sam breaks the wall of silence.
"I never told you... I'm really happy you chose me. I know how hard it was for you to choose and I'm sorry that I put so much pressure on you. Dean never told me he was proposing, and I didn't tell him I was either. I should have told him first and never have made you choose. That is not a choice anyone should ever have to make."
"It's ok Sam. I know neither of you knew about each other's plans, and I'm happy I chose you too. I made the right choice, and I'm sticking with it this time." You respond. Keeping your eyes on the road, not taking even a second to look at him, knowing you'll be caught in the deepness of his beautiful eyes.
Sam suggests you go to the police station to get the specifics on the attacks, and to show them a picture of Dean and find out if they've seen him. He ends up going inside the police station while you sit in the car since you forgot your "FBI badge" at the bunker. Pretty quickly afterwards, Sam returns with the information. Dean had not been in there, but the attacks were on an abandoned property on the edge of town. He got the address.
Upon arriving at the property, you see a large barn, clearly unused for the past decade at least. On other parts of the property, you see small buildings about the size of cabins you would rent at a lake. You are thinking they are probably used for storage or something of the sort. You and Sam get out of the car, and are heading to the trunk where you have a small stash of weapons in case Dean took Baby out, and you need protection. what you see next is not a good sign. Blood. Lots of blood. Pools, and drops of blood leading into the barn. Worst of all, it's clearly human.
