You then look towards back the direction the boy was at, but he was gone.

'Where'd he go...?' You think to yourself anxiously.

"Well enough with the depressing atmosphere!" Your friend desperately tries to lighten the mood. "How about we stop and get drinks on the way home after school?"

"Sure." You respond simply, still slightly concerned.

-

Hours pass and school ends as usual. Coming out of the store sipping on your newly bought slushy you then turn to your friend.

"Thank you for buying me this... you really didn't have to." You tell them.

"Haha, no It's on me! I mean we are friends aren't we?" Your friend replies giggling.

"Damnit, you're way too nice, (F/N)." You nudge your friend by the shoulder laughing.

"It's just what I do." (F/N) winks at you.

You both maintain a friendly conversation with a few inside jokes here and there until you finally have to part ways.

"Bye, (Y/N)!' You both wave bye to eachother.

"Bye!"

A few minutes pass as you sigh aloud to yourself while walking across the sidewalk.

"We said we'd get payback didn't we?" Says a boy from an alleyway a few feet away.

You stop.

"I told you, I used it already!" Another boy yells.

'That sounds like...' You think to yourself.

"ACK!" Someone yells in pain.

'Oh my god...' You run towards the noise. "HOONI!"

Finally making it face to face with the situation they all turn to face you.

"Well well well, you didn't tell me you had any friends."

Hooni looks surprised.

"Leave him alone." You say panting for breath.

It looks like you were just on time before things got worse.

"Or what? You're gonna call my mommy?" The older boy says in a mocking tone.

"What did he even do to you?" You ask.

"Little Hooni here used up all our money we kindly asked for." The other boy then puts a foot on Hooni's back, clearly hurting him.

"Get off of him." You respond growling.

"Nah, I don't feel like it." The boy says and they all start laughing.

"Don't make me use this." You pretend to slowly pull something from your pocket.

"What makes you think we're scared of-" The older one gets caught off.

You then threw your drink distracting them while you went and pulled Hooni up.

"Hurry!" You tell him.

Hooni hesitates before taking your hand.

"O-Okay!" Hooni says, a blushing mess.

"You, BITCH!" The bully wipes the drink off his face.

Running as far away as you and Hooni can, you then both finally find a nice spot to rest.

"You ok?" You ask the small shivering boy while clenching onto his hands.

"Y-Yeah..." He looks up to you in a shocked state.

You stare at him.

"Um." He says dumbstruck.

"Oh, sorry." You start blushing. "Your name is Hooni, right?"

"...Yes." He plays with his thumbs.

"I'm (Y/N). You probably know that already though." You laugh. "Um, are you really sure your ok?"

"Yes, thank you." Hooni blushes. That's when you notice you are still holding hands.

"Ah, I'm sorry." You say and gently let go of his hands. "Would you... like me to walk you home?"

Hooni gets overly flustered. (If that's even possible at this point-)

"N-No!" He panics. "I mean- er- you don't have to."

You look up at the sky, It's dark.

"Tell me where you live." You demand.

"Um... a-alright..." He looks down at the floor.

"Thank you." You reply.

Hooni tells you his address and after about 20-30 minutes eventually you both make it there. He then proceeds to unlock his apartment door, turning on the lights, and beckoning for you to come inside.

"Woah..." You say.

"I'm sorry it's not the best, it's the only thing I could afford." He replies worried you won't like it.

"No! It's alright, might need a little cleaning though." You chuckle.

"Wait- You said you lived alone?"

Hooni looks at you.

"Yeah... my mother passed away when I was younger. And my father..." He pauses.

"It's okay you don't have to say if it makes you uncomfortable." You reassure him putting your hand on his shoulder.

"You should get home before your parents get worried." He tells you.

"Hmm." You reply as you get your phone out of your pocket.

"U-Um-" Hooni says confused.

You then point your phone towards Hooni showing a message.

"Here, look. I asked my parents if I could stay over." You grin.

"W-Wait- you can't do that!" He blushes like mad making a no motion with his hands.

"And why not?" You question, crossing your arms.

"Because you shouldn't stay in a place like this, you should get home!" He panics.

"Relax, we can clean it up tommorow." You reply.

"B-But..." He gets cut off by your finger.

"No buts." You shake your head. "You need to get this place cleaned."

"Mm-" He sighs in defeat.

Closing the door behind you, Hooni takes a look at himself in the mirror.

"Ow..." He says to himself.

"I can't believe them, picking on someone less their size." You then rub the scuff marks off his face with your thumb.

"...Why did you help me?" Hooni asks looking up to you.

"What do you mean?" You say confused as you both move over to sit on the mattress.

"You helped me... why?" He continues.

"Because I wanted to." You reply.

Hooni stares at you.

"I don't understand." He says as he looks down.

"Hooni, you know your worth more then to be bullied like that." You brush the hair out of his face. "You've been through so much."

...

"Thank you, (Y/N)"
