Chapter 8: He wouldn't would he?

"Hooni... you're special to me, I don't care what they say." You mumble into his hair.

"Plus, I will knock those guys out if they ever messed with me." You giggle.

"Thank you, (Y/N)." Hooni looks up to you with a smile wiping the tears off his face.

"Can I ask you something, Hooni?" You say out of the blue.

"Ask me what?" Hooni looks at you unknowingly.

"I'll be forward with you..." You grab his hands. "Have you ever had an unexplainable attachment to someone you'd feel like you'd known forever?" You say in a hushed tone.

"What do you mean by that? Are you okay (Y/N)?" Hooni turns his head sideways.

"What if I said that person was you?" You say.

"Wh- HUH?" Hooni responds flustered.

You get closer.

"Hooni your one of the nicest people I have ever met I don't know what'd I'd do without you anymore." You tell Hooni.

Hooni stares at you in embarrassed silence.

"Hooni would you consider going on a date with me?" You grip tighter on his hands.

You both sit there for a few moments until Hooni suddenly speaks up.

"You... like me?" Hooni asks.

"Yes, of course I do... you mean everything to me." You reassure him.

"Can you give me a week to think about it?" Hooni looks at the floor.

"Oh- of course." You reply.

"N-Not that I don't like you or anything!! I don't mean it like that i-if you know what I'm saying ah-" You cut him off.

"Hooni, it's okay. I understand." You laugh.

"Oh phew, good." Hooni says embarrassed.

"Let's get out of here shall we?" You unlock the door allowing him to escape.

"Heheh, yeah..." Hooni chuckles nervously.

You both finally end up leaving the awkward place yet get caught by the group of bullies in the hallway.

"Hey, you guys make up your mind yet?" The tall one asks you both. Hooni freezing in place grabs on to the hem of your shirt.

"I'm not going to be your damn servant get lost." You respond.

"Aw why not puppy? You afraid we gonna bully you?~" The bully says before you kick him in the shin.

"Come on, Hooni." You say as you pull Hooni by his sleeve.

Hooni just stares at you in shock. Then eventually it was time to go home. Everything was back to normal...

Except for the group of nuisances that are now terrified someone actually stood up to them.

You can't help thinking to yourself as you get home. 'Will Hooni decline?'

'...He wouldn't would he?'

'I guess we'll let fate decide.'
