You layed in the warm bath the suds soaking into you're skin. It was a long day, you're body reflected that. You're bones were aching for rest, and the warm water and strawberry bath bomb didn't help you. You begun to feel yourself slip into unconscious when there was a knock at you're bathroom door. You emedently jumped. You're ghost can't knock that loudly.
"Gaurdian?" The deep voice of you're commander echoed through the door and you're cheeks blushed.
"C-Comander?" You ask startled and swearing to the traveler that you're gonna beat you're ghost for this. "Uhh, whats up?"
"I apologize to be bothering you outside of you're designated work hours." He pauses a creak can Be heard on The door. He leaned against it. "However Shaxx told me of something a few days ago and I can't get it out of my head. I need to know the truth guardian." He says with a hint of need or want in his voice. You begin to get out of the bath and wrap a towle around yourself. When you try to open the door, you can't.
"Zavala? This is not gonna be a conversation between a door." You say slightly annoyed, you were known around the tower as the touchy type. The one who would hug a stranger instead of shake their hand. Nearly every time you came back from a mission accomplished you'd run too Zavala and give him the tightest hug you could muster. You never wanted him to feel lonely at the top.
"I'm afraid it will have to be. I do not believe I'd have the courage to ask you face to face." You nearly groan but you hear a shaken breath leave him. Instead of pushing further you lean against the door too.
"Alright Zavala. I'm listening." You say sliding to the floor. You're body is exhausted.
"Shaxx and I were at the bar one day. He... well he said he'd bet on his life that you had a crush on me and that was why you hugged me all the time." He said, softly, quietly, as if their were a spy trying to listen to him now. You think for a moment.
"Zavala... I dont hug you because I have a crush on you. If that were the case I'd have a crush on Ikora, you, Shaxx, Osiris, Holiday, and everyone else I interact with. Zavala I hug you because I care about you, because I dont want you to have to shoulder the burden of the city alone. No." I say sternly but loving. "I do have a crush on you, I do love you, thats the reason I know you're favorite tea and how to make it. Its the reason when you've been cooped up in you're office with paperwork I bring you food." My heart flutters as I hear him chuckle.
"You can't make sure you're doing the right thing if you want to eat everything that lives." He says mockingly, something I say to him if he refuses my food. I laugh to myself a bit. The silence afterwards makes me wonder if I should begin my resignation now though. "So... you do love me?" He asks.
"I'd love you through the light and the dark. Nothing could ever change that." I say, it's the truth. No matter what id still love him.
"I'm glad." He says and I can hear the slightest smile. "Perhaps we can go on a date sometime?" He asks.
"I would love that." I respond probably too quickly as I get up and open the door since he now allows me too. I wrap him in a gentle hug, my muscles are screaming, and I'm certain that even if I wanted to I couldn't squeeze him. I nearly squeal as im suddenly lifted off the ground and Zavala is holding me in his strong arms. I look him in the eyes and smile as I lean into him.
"You're nearly asleep already. " he says slightly amused, I pretend to slap him, wich honestly is more of a pat to his chest and a hearty chuckle passes his lips. He then begins to walk into my bedroom carring me with ease as he then places my form onto my bed, he kneels besides it and brushes some of my hair from my forehead. "You better not have been this tired on the battlefield." He says and I giggle.
"Trust me. I wouldn't have gone if I was." I say smiling.
"I'll see myself out. Goodnight darling. " he says getting up and right before he leaves the room I manage an I love you, before passing out.
