Chapter Eighteen

2 Years Later

Nora sat in the school bathroom with a pregnancy test in her hands. "Hey, girl!" Sam Hudson said looking over the stall. Nora screamed. She looked madly up at Sam who held an amused smile on his face. "Sam, damn it!" she said. "I could've been naked in here!" "Oh come on! No one comes to the bathroom and uses the bathroom!" Sam said smiling. (The bathroom was for both genders. Some prefered it some didn't. The school didn't care what people thought.) "What is the bathroom for then?" Nora asked. "Drugs, alcohol, sex," Sam said. His eyes widened when he saw what was in Nora's hand. "What's that?" He asked. "A pregnancy test," Nora said. Sam gasped. "Who's kid?" he asked. "John's," Nora mumbled. "Well, are you having a baby?" Sam asked. "Yeah," Nora said. "I'm sixteen!" "So? You can do this!" Sam said. "I know Axl won't turn you away and Everly is too nice." "I hope you're right," Nora said. "I'm right!" Sam said. Nora chuckled. Sam always made her laugh. 

They walked out of the bathroom. "John is in science, how do I tell him?" Nora asked. Sam shrugged. "Just tell him," he said. "Wow, you're a lot of help, Sam," Nora said. "Sam Hudson to the principal's office."  The speakers rang out. "What did you do?" Nora asked her friend. "They found out I wrote 'fuck you principal Adams' on the side of the school!" Sam said. "Sam!" Nora scolded. Sam laughed as he walked away. 

"Nora!" John said walking up to her. "John, I have something to tell you," Nora said. "What?" John asked calmly as he shot Nora a smile. "I'm pregnant," Nora said. John looked disgusted. "Whore!" he said. "No, John, it's yours!" Nora said. "You said you were on birth control!" John yelled. The entire hallway was looking at them now. Nora was close to tears. "I... I forgot to take them!" Nora said. "John, please," Nora said. "No, fuck off. I never wanna see you again!" John said. 

Nora walked to the principal's office and saw Sam, Matthew (Matt) Mckagan, and Alexander (Alex) Isbell. They must've all been in the prank. "Sir, I need to go home. I don't feel well," Nora said. "Alright," the principal said. He was clearly annoyed by the three boys. Normally, Nora would laugh at them. But she wasn't in the mood for laughing. All she wanted to do was cry. 

Nora arrived home and broke down crying. "Nora!" Axl said running to her. "Nora, what's wrong?" "John dumped me," Nora cried. "John was no good for you anyway," Axl said. "No, you don't understand I'm pregnant!" Nora said. "What?" Axl asked. "Dad, I... I forgot to take my birth control I'm pregnant," Nora said. "Nora, Nora," Axl said scooping Axl up in his arms. "Now, stop crying it's alright. I and your mother will be here for you and the baby every step of the way. Until you turn eighteen," Axl said. Nora laughed. "Thanks, Dad," she said. "Well tell your mom when she gets home," Axl said.

"You know we'll be here for you right?" Everly asked as she and Axl sat on the side of her bed. "Yeah," Nora said. Then she yawned. "Goodnight sweet child," Axl said kissing Nora's forehead. "Goodnight, Nora," Everly said as she and Axl walked out of the room. 

"I don't know what to think of this." "I know." "She's single and pregnant. And sixteen!" "I know, but one day she'll find someone who will take care of her and the baby. We just have to wait. Besides, did you really want John to stick around?" "No, he wouldn't be a good dad. He wasn't a good boyfriend to her." "How do you know all of this?" "Sam, Everly, Sam. And Sam never lies when it comes to Nora." "Maybe Sam is the one for Nora." "My best friends child being the one for mine. Imagine the odds. Haha." "Laugh all you want. But I may be correct."
