**short chapter
I laid across my bed, just staring at the ceiling until my phone vibrated. I picked it up and seen my best friend texted me.
"BESTFRIEND! Remember I told you that I think you and the guy from my job should hook up???"
I rolled my eyes, chucked a bit, and texted back
"Yes...? Why?"
"Well I may have gave him your snap 😏😏"
"Ali! Why would you do that? I don't know him!"
"Girl it's not like I gave him your address"
I made a smug look at the phone and continued the conversation
"Well....I guess he's a little cute, based on the pictures you showed me"
"EXACTLY! So go ahead and open snap. Don't be shy Keisha"
I closed our messages and opened my Snapchat. I saw someone had added me.
I immediately added back the person- knowing it was Ali's coworker.
"Hey" I typed to him. It didn't take long for his little bitmoji to pop up at the bottom of the screen.
"Hey there. This is Jake" He replied
Of course, I had to make a corny joke to liven up the mood.
"From State Farm?"
"Lol. Corny but you're cute so I'll let it slide"
I stared at the message for a few seconds- feeling my cheeks heat up.
"How much has Ali told you about me?"
"She told me that you're really shy, creative, fun, and you're a low key freak"
I gasped out loud and nearly threw my phone across the room.
WHY WOULD SHE DO THAT??
"Please tell me you're lying"
"No, seriously she said that. Don't be embarrassed though, I'm the same way 😌"
I made a mental note to cuss Ali out later on. Our conversation went on for hours- so we decided to exchange phone numbers.
"You seem like an amazing person" Jake complimented
"You as well."
"I don't mean to be too forward....but would you like to go on a date?"
I bit my lip with nervousness- but I decided to go for it.
"Sure! How about a walk in the park? Or a restaurant?"
I know that sounds a bit boring but I still don't know him- gotta be careful.
"How about we combine the two? Picnic in the park?"
"Sounds perfect 😚"
We said our good nights and I put my phone in the charger, smiling up a storm.
