CHAPTER 4

CHAPTER 4: AND WE FINALLY DID

As soon as I woke up, I searched for the two dummies, they're still passed out beside me, tch weaklings. As soon as I finished checking after them, my eyes roamed all over the place, I think we're in a barn, dried grass are scattered everywhere. I tried waking up the two airheads, "Hao Xian, Xiao Chen" I keep on wiggling them, is the powder really that strong? "Why did I woke up first?" And why are we tied up with silk?

"Because we need to talk to you." A familiar voice of a man echoed in the barn. "Me? If so, why didn't you let go of these two?" I took a glance at my friends, they do look fine, they don't seem poisoned and all, but they're still passed out. "We have no choice, they're with you." I looked down, I'm kinda nervous, I'm just 5, I'm literally a child, why would they interrogate me about something serious?

"Where did they go?" the man asked, "Who?" I was hella confused. "Your mom and the guards." Eh? How am I supposed to know? "Sorry to disappoint you mister, but I am left with nothing, I woke up in the middle of nowhere, and can't even remember what my real profile is." The man aggressively turned his head on me, "What do you mean? So you're telling me that they left you? ALONE?" Why does he seem shock, I'm really missing out it eagers me more to know about my identity. "May I know you?" He diverted his sight on the window, "You don't know me?" I shook my head in disagreement. He look so confused, "What happened to you Ling Hao?" Eh? How did he know my name? "I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but I think you got the wrong kid. Now, can me and my friends get going now?" He stood up and stopped right in front of me and tilted his head, "Absolutely not" Jeez, what does he want?

*arrow shoot*

We just kept captivated, and now there's flying arrows all around the place, can't I at least get captivated in peace? "Goddamn it!" the man exclaimed. I immediately woke the two airheads up, to my surprise, they still haven't woken up, I did my best to shake them, but not even a single finger moved. "Let's go, boys!" the man and his guards ran away in a flash, "Aren't we going to get him?" The guard pointed at me, "No, we'll get him another time.", How great, I still haven't get to experience how to use a sword, and now someone's going after me.

After they fled, the shooting arrows stopped. "Ling Hao! Hao Xian! Xiao Chen!" Sister Wei came to rescue us, along with other armoured guards, Sister Wei immediately went to us. "What happened A'Hao? Why are you kept here? Did they hurt you?" I shook my head and smiled to ease her worry, "We're fine Sister, these two are passed out due to the tranquilizing powder." Sister Wei looked at me confusingly, "How did you know about that thing?" I shrugged to let her think that I know it, but it really seems like I've inhaled this before.

"Li Wei, put them in the cart, quick!" A manly armored guy shouted. Sister Wei held my hand, while two boys lifted Hao Xian  and Xiao Chen up. We then hopped in the carriage, "Sister Wei, who are these guys?" I asked out of curiosity, "They're from the academy, they helped me find you three." I just nodded. "What happened back there A'Hao? Who are they?" I shook my head, "He told me he knew me, but I don't know him, Sister." Sister Wei let out a deep sigh and looked outside the window, does she know anything about that man?.

*10 minutes later*

"Thank you for saving them, Wu Qin." said by Clan Leader Jin. The man named Wu Qin bowed, he looked at Sister Wei before leaving, that look was quite different, I wonder what's going on. "A'Hao, come with me." Oh no, am I going to get served later at supper? I looked back at Sister Wei, she smiled and nodded as if she's telling me everything will be alright. I followed Clan Leader Jin to his study, I feel terrified, what did I do wrong, we only went out to play :((

"Ling Hao, do you know the man who just captivated you?" I wonder how did he knew about the situation, he didn't come along while Sister Wei went for us. "No, but he told me that he knew me." For the shocking scene, Clan Leader Jin hugged me, he then looked at me "Don't go there again, A'Hao." I nodded to show that I agree. I went to our room, Hao Xian was still passed out, I let out a bigh sigh and directed myself in my bed, what a long day that was, then I closed my eyes, this day was exhausting.

*the next morning*

"Ling Hao! What happened? How did we end up here at home? I remember us running in the woods?" Hao Xian innocently asked. "I also don't know." I uttered.

*flashback from last night*

"Don't mention this to Hao Xian and Xiao Chen, Ling Hao." I bowed and ran away.

*flashback ends*

Xiao Chen tilted his head, "I wonder what happened. Anyway, let's go, I'm starving." I nodded and held his hand, I felt a bit guilt about what I did, but it's for the better I guess. We ran to the kitchen, there, we saw Madam Wang sitting down and drinking her tea. "Good morning, Mother."/ "Good morning Madam Wang." Xiao Chen and I both uttered. "Oh, the boys are already awake, here, eat your breakfast, you'll be late for the academy." Xiao Chen and I sat down and started to eat, for we didn't ate supper last night.

*Fast forward to the academy*

"A'Chen!" Hao Xian called the dummy, but he won't even look back. "What?" He responded without looking at Hao Xian, "Did you know what happened to us yesterday? I woke up in my room, that's impossible, last time I remeber, we were running in Yu Li."

(Yu Li= The tree they named, including the treehouse)

"I don't know." after responding to Xiao Chen, the airhead just walked away, so respectful isn't he? Anyway, Hao Xian and I just shrugged and went to our class. It went on pretty fast as usual, and fortunately peaceful. We reached home not long after we hopped on the carriage, Hao Xian and I are both tired, so we took a nap as long as we reached home.

*30 minutes later*

"Shouldn't we tell him the truth?"

"He's still in danger, I think it's best not to tell him yet."

Eh? Who's in danger?

"Isn't it better if he knew he's in trouble? So he couldn't go and interact with every person he meets?"

"That is good, but now now. Let's just keep him in our ward."

"Clan Leader, who's in danger?" The Clan Leader and Madam Wang jumped out of shock, they seem to saw something unlikely, but it was just me :(( "Nothing, A'Hao. Call your siblings, it's time for supper." Clan Leader Jiang told me, I noticed that he's sweating a bit, it's so cold tonight, that's odd. I woke Sister Wei and Hao Xian up and went to the dining area. And as usual, we ate happily, I feel so lucky that Xiao Chen found me that day, I'll be forever grateful.

*15 years later*

"Give me that you, dimwit!" I run as fast as I can, I cannot let this pillock outrun me. "Catch me if you can!" I'm looking back at him as we run down the hill. It's been years, and Xiao Chen still runs like a chicken. All is fun and games, until this chicken picked up a stone and aimed it at me. "No, No, I surrender! What a dirty trick!" I rolled my eyes, he grabbed the bow on my hand. "You can't use this for a week." I turned my head at him, "What? That's not fair, you told me I can use this to hunt the birds!" He glanced at me and rolled his eyes, he'll go blind in a couple of years if he won't stop that habit, tsk.

"That's enough, you two. The sun is about to set, let's head back!" Hao Xian exclaimed. Xiao Chen held my hands as we walk, it took 15 years for us to held hands. I still have butterflies whenever we do this, maybe some things just never change?
