Last Reunion, Last Goodbye

Y/n POV

I looked at Five, he was a mess. Dark circles under his bloodshot eyes due to all the alcohol he had consumed. His hair was messy and hung over his eyes. His uniform was creased and dirty. I wanted to hug him. To let him know that I was okay, but I couldn’t.

“We have four days to stop the apocalypse.” Luther asked in disbelief.

“That’s what I said…” Five said, his throat raw. He kept glancing in my direction, he made eye contact and his eyes glimmered with recognition, but then he looked away defeated.

I wanted to get out of there, to scream at the universe for making him so broken, I wanted to torture myself for running into the building, but this was torture. Seeing Five broken and numb, and not being able to do anything about it was torture.

I had to say a proper goodbye to Five, so he could move on.

“Klaus are you sober?” I asked. Klaus looked at me and nodded, “I need you to make me visible to the eye…”

“What? Y/n, you know that’s really difficult right…”

Five POV

I looked up to see Klaus talking to “y/n”, so I got up and walked over to him.

“Klaus, what’s wrong? Is she okay?” I asked worriedly.

“She wants to say goodbye Five, a proper goodbye.” Klaus said.

My heart sank, “C-can she? Can you try?”

Klaus squeezed his eyes shut and started to do a weird pose, he looked constipated.

Next to me, there was flicker of light, and a blue y/n kept appearing and disappearing, like a glitch, “Y/n?”

“F-Five you - can –… me?” Was all I heard.

“Klaus focus…” I reassured him.

Suddenly y/n was in front of me, clear as day. She was smiling, but her eyes were sad.

“Y/n…”

“Five…”

“Are you…?” I didn’t know what to say.

“I can’t stay Five, I want to but my time has come…” She held my hand, hers was cold, but i felt warm at her touch.

“I-I can go back in time… I can save you…” Tears streamed down my face; I’d never felt so vulnerable.

Y/n shook her head, tears also flowed down her cheeks, “Five, I know that it is my time to go, I won’t be alone, I’ll be with my mum and my dad, I’ll look after Patch for you Diego.” I turned to see Diego give her a sad smile.

I turned back to y/n, “So… it’s over, I can’t save the world without you…”

“You can Five. I believe in you, you are the smartest young, old man I know. And I love you so much, so so much.”

Suddenly, a blue spark bounced from her finger and her hand was engulfed in blue flame and began to spread up her arm.

“It’s time to say goodbye… can you hug me as I go?”

I hugged her tightly until there was nothing left of her.

“Goodbye y/n. I love you too.”
