"Hi Nini! How was your-"

One look from Jennie made Lisa shut her mouth. Lisa wasn't sure why, but she suddenly had the sinking feeling that she was in the dog house.

The girl in her arms wiggled around so that she had one arm still around Lisa's shoulders and one hand extended out towards Jennie.  All Lisa could do was watch the interaction.

Jennie walked straight up to them, never breaking eye contact with the girl in Lisa's arms. She stretched out her hand and smiled with icy courtesy. The other girl didn't seem to notice, her grin widening, and accepted the handshake.

The girl cast an amused sideways glance at Lisa while shaking Jennie's hand jovially, "Hi! I'm Im Yeri, and you must be-"

Jennie cut her off, "I'm Jennie. Lisa's girlfriend." Her smile could have put ice on the sun. It was so cold. If Yeri noticed, she didn't give any sign.

Jennie's eyes finally landed on Lisa. She snapped her out of her trance, arms immediately springing away from Yeri, "Uhm...hi Nini! Yeri just came back from a foreign exchange and we bumped into her-"

Jennie ignored her, grabbing her hand to make their way into the restaurant as their number was called. Lisa trailed after her, wondering what had caused this sudden change in disposition.

They were so excited when they went shopping this morning...maybe Chaeyoung got her mad? Maybe she lost her wallet...

"Jennie?" Lisa's voice was concerned. Jennie wheeled around, burning daggers shooting from her eyes.

"What."

Lisa wilted a little. "I...what's wrong?"

Jennie's eyes narrowed, darting over Lisa's shoulders to the other girls behind them. But when Lisa turned her head to follow her line of sight, Jennie tugged hard on her hand, making her head snap back to Jennie.

"Who is that, Lisa?"

Before she could answer, Jennie half dragged her into the restaurant bathroom, locking the door behind them.

She blinked. "Who is who?"

Jennie stepped closer, eyes narrowing, "That girl. That Yeri girl that was hugging you. Who is she?"

More blinks. Lisa's hands were starting to sweat again. It hadn't happened in a while, not since those first couple of dates. But Lisa was feeling more nervous around Jennie now than she had in the past couple of months combined. She has never seen Jennie this angry before.

"That's Yeri...we went to high school together."

"And?"

And what?

"And what?"

Jennie furrowed her eyebrows in frustration, "You should know 'and what', Lisa."

Without waiting for a response, Jennie stormed past her out of the bathroom door, leaving Lisa standing by herself in confusion.

Huh?

Lisa scratched her head, looking at her own befuddled expression in the bathroom mirrors. She was definitely sure she was in trouble now. She just wished she knew why.

---

Yeri had gone off to re-join her own table, so it was just the four of them when Lisa sat down. Jennie barely said a word.

When her food arrived she stabbed at it like it had affronted her in some unmentionable way. And every time Lisa tried to strike up a conversation with her, she was met only with stony responses.
