Y/N starts focusing on her studies, her promise to herself to be independent is in full swing and she has never felt any better. The only bad part about her new behavior is how distant she's beginning to become from the others but they don't mention it to her, grateful whenever she decides to come around.

She makes it a goal to keep herself busy and her schedule full. Her routine never falters; wake up, class, straight to the gym and then back home to study and then do it all over again the next day. Keeping herself busy keeps her mind off of things. It's better to ignore reality - occupy yourself with a getaway.

But reality always catches up to you somehow.

She's doing her normal routine. After a long day of lectures and notes, she's back at her dorm to change into her workout clothes. Her stomach is rumbling but she ignores it, knowing it's better to wait under she's done at the gym to replenish herself. She even bought her meal already before coming home; a chicken salad.

After a short debate with her mind on whether or not she should just skip the gym and go binge on snacks instead, she forces herself out of the door to start her jog there which is her way of warming up so that her heart is pumping and she's ready to go.

Flashing her membership card to the woman at the desk, she makes her way to the room she always goes to. She's so invested into this that she bought a four years premium membership. Expensive but to her, it's worth it.

Y/N gets right to work - putting every single muscle in her body to use. She goes from machine to machine and switches up in between a variety of non-machine exercises. Music blasts in her ears as her motivation to keep going, ignoring the ache that persists throughout her body.

Once she finishes and is sure that she has thoroughly worked every single part of her body, she gets her stuff ready to leave.

Wiping sweat from her brow, Y/N steps out of the room and into the hallway where she's taking heavy breaths of relief, the building's air conditioner hitting the skin of her arms and her torso. She bows her head goodbye to the woman at the desk before reaching out to push the door open, but it opens before she gets a chance and the person bumps into her.

"Sorry! I didn't mean to-" her words fade as she looks up to see who the person is and her apologetic expression is quickly changed into a blank one.

Jungkook looks at her in shock, not because she nearly knocked him over but also because she looks almost unrecognizable - how different she is.

And it's not in a good way either.

Her chubby cheeks have slimmed and he can see her rib cages protruding through her skin. Although her leggings are high waisted and he can't really see her stomach, he can tell that she no longer has the soft tummy she had before. Now she's more sculpted and built.

He feels like he hasn't seen her in months though it's only been weeks - weeks of her dodging everyone and moving so fast around the campus. How can one change in such a little amount of time? Is this because of him?

After what has only been a few quick seconds of staring, Y/N slips past him without a word.

She gets home and now she feels like complete shit after seeing him. After a steaming hot shower and a few shed tears later, Y/N is standing in front of her mirror dressed in her pajamas. She pins her hair and smothers her face in expensive creams, dousing her hair with expensive moisturisers and brushing it free of tangles.

As pathetic as it sounds, she's finding herself to be more obsessed with her image these days. Now that there's no one to tell her how beautiful she is every day, she no longer feels so. She used to have so much confidence; she would wear things out of her comfort zone, she could care less about skin care routines or hair products and makeup but now? She feels like it's mandatory for all this stuff.
