scared.
scared of what he had gotten himself into.
Henry had already been captured and tortured at my own hands.

I had been standing in the shadows, watching this go down, knowing that if they noticed me, I'd be dead.

Henry started to say something, but he was cut off by both of you saying something

'shut up.' you and Evy said at the same time. your eyes flicked to meet identical ones in each other's faces, and Evys softened for only a moment. you were still her fiesty little sister.

you took advantage of that moment of mercy where your sisters hold on the sword trembled.

you twisted her arm so that she yelped in surprise and dropped the sword, which skitterd away, sliding and spinning. neither of you gave a moments thought to the sword as the immediate threat was in front of you.

the fight continued as I looked down at the sword which had landed by my feet.

I didn't know which side I was on anymore.

my duty was to the king, to kill all of the spies in the near vicinity was the first thought that came to my mind. it would get me a medal and a nice bonus to be used for a nice cottage, but something in my heart ached.

no. I couldn't do that. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I killed my own kin....
