ah yes.
Evy was angry. or so she seemed.

I knew that it was jealousy. I knew she had felt betrayed when trin and I had been able to escape, leaving her there.

I knew I should've returned. I should've saved her from the grasp of that horrible academy, taken her away and let her reinvent herself.

but I didn't. I couldn't risk it. I couldn't get near that place without feeling like I wanted to die, flashbacks raging through my skull and knocking me to the ground.

besides, I needed a spy. someone to get close to Arcus, to learn his techniques and leak them to the kings guard to get them just as strong as the samurai in the academy.

that plan had fallen through many years ago when I realized that the king had been corrupted by the Egg. the Egg that burned me when I touched its vines and whispered twisted accounts of my past actions in my head. the Egg I was on my way to rip from its roots and make an omelet with.

I grabbed trins outstretched bottle and peered at it warily. although my knowledge of potions was limited, I knew this would be an antidote, and I swallowed the sweet liquid quickly. immediately the burns on my hands and the cuts on my back started healing, bringing a look of relief to my face.

'thank you trin. I've missed you.' I said looking at my sister eye to eye for the first time ever.

'Evy... i-' 'don't. I don't wanna hear your sorry excuse for an apology. the deed is done. the hurt is there.' evy pointed to her own chest and turned away, calling for trin.

trin shrugged and turned to follow our sister and I waited a few moments before following suit.
