It had been about two months since the fair and Carlisle had done an excellent job at keeping Esme in the dark about the adoption. It was around four o'clock in the evening and the sun was already starting to set as Carlisle turned into the road that houses the children's home. "Carlisle, what are we doing here?" Esme asked
"Now that my love is the surprise" They stepped out of the car, Carlisle walked around to Esme and took her hand in his and lead her up to the building.
"DAWN YOU GET YOUR ARSE DOWN HER RIGHT NOW"
Dawn slowly got up from her bed still in pain from when she was hit repeatedly last night, she made her way to the office terrified that she would be hit again "yes miss" she said no louder than a whisper
"The Cullens are taking you home today, you better not say anything about what happens or I lose a lot of money and then there will be hell to pay except who would believe and abused worthless thing like you, that's right no one"
"Yes, miss" Dawn quickly went upstairs to start packing although she knew that she would only come back to this hell in a couple of months maybe a year like the first time.
"Dr and Mrs Cullen it is so great to see you, I am so glad you chose to go through with the adoption, why don't we step into my office I have something to explain to you."
After several minutes of waiting Miss Heather looked at the clock, "I should go look for her, I will be right back"
Miss Heather got to Dawns room "what are you doing, packing well you have finished no so do up your bag" Dawn not wanting to get in any more trouble she quickly did up her bag. Miss Heather yanked Dawn down the stairs by her hair only stopping when they neared the office door "not a word or else" all Dawn did was slowly node as she blinked back tears and joined everyone in the office
"Good evening Dawn are you ready to go home," Esme asked her smiling
"Yes miss" Dawn whispered
"Please call me Esme"
Dawn followed Esme out of the house as Carlisle followed just behind with her suitcase. Dawn quickly hid behind a pillar in front of the door as soon as she saw the tunnel for escape getting nearer and she was terrified.
"Dawn what is wrong?" Carlisle asked as Esme held out her hand hoping that Dawn would take it, but she just shook her head "Dawn if you tell us what is wrong, Esme and I can fix it"
Dawn slowly peeked her head out around the pillar and stared deep into their eyes still not completely trusting them refused to take Esme's hand instead of handing her some more flowers this time they were a mixture of canterbury bells and dark pink roses. "Thank you Dawn they are gorgeous, come on let's go to the car"
Esme and Carlisle sat in the front as Dawn sat in the back, it did not take Dawn long to be fast asleep
"Thank you so much" Esme was over the moon all she had ever wanted was a child to have and to hold and now she did
Dawn was still asleep when they arrived home so they decided to let her carry on sleeping, so Carlisle picked her up and took her into the living room before gently laying her down on the sofa "I will get her a blanket" Esme said before running off to get the young girl a blanket and laying it softly over her sleeping body.
The others returned slowly with Edward being the last to arrive.
"She is adorable" Rosalie cooed over her new younger sister, everyone continued with the rest of their evening
Everyone could hear Dawn's heart rate increasing. Jasper quickly entered the room and tried to calm her down but to no avail.
