Do They Still Love Me?

"Come on guys, we are almost there." Thorn encourages them as they continue their journey towards the children's hospital since that's where Pumpkin said Georgie and Mira would be there at this time of day. "I can't believe I'm finally going home. I missed it so much!" Pumpkin says excitedly as she trots faster getting closer to where Thorn and Missile were walking. "Trust me we know." Seashell barks out as she had missed her home and honestly wondered if their owner missed her and Clover. "Well I'm excited to say that we're officially only a mile away from the children's hospital. " Missile says as she knows this part of New York like the back of her paw.

Pumpkin knew it well too, and she couldn't wait any longer so she galloped off leaving the others in the dust, as she saw the children's hospital come into her sight. So many good memories appeared in Pumpkin's mind like when she and Diamond traveled here for Valentine's Day, and when Elena pup sat her, and watching Frozen, Tangled  and Descendants a million times. She never thought she would miss watching those movies, but she did. She was excited to see Georgie, and Mira, her family that she loves so much.

As she approaches the hospital door though she sees a scene that makes her heart shatter. She saw Georgie and Mira but, with them were two Yorkies, both wearing therapy dog vests and talking and laughing. The one with red and green highlights doing tricks and having the mischievous gleam in her eyes that Pumpkin used to have when she wanted an adventure. She couldn't believe it. Georgie and Mira had replaced her with two Yorkies. She thought Georgie was different from her friend's owner. Why would Georgie and Mira replace her? They loved her, didn't they? Well, apparently not enough to wait for her to return. She sees Mira look at her direction, but she  moves away so her sister won't see her. Maybe Jade and Diamond were right all along. Maybe being a street dog was the best life. She just thought Georgie was different.

Mira quickly glances at the door noticing a white blur. Her heart jumped and she ran to the door hoping to see her sister she longed to see again. Even though it had been months, and she had pretty much given up all hope. She still ran to the door with a little hope in her heart that it was actually her sister. Georgie must have noticed her excitement though because Georgie came to the door as well, and looked through it. "Thought you saw Pumpkin again right girl." Georgie asks sadly as she picks up Mira, and looks out the door again. "Don't worry girl, I'm sure she's fine no matter where she is." Georgie says, trying to hold back the doubt from her voice. 

"Yeah, I know but I'm sure I saw her this time." Mira barks out to Georgie as the two Yorkies come over. "I'm sure you did Mira, but maybe she's just not ready to come back to her home life again." Brook says, wagging her tail sadly.  Mira just sighs, "I guess you're right. Maybe there's some hope that Pumpkin will come back." Mira says more to herself than to her friends as they went back and sat down.

Pumpkin walked away sadly as she went to the field on the back part of the children's hospital where she saw a girl in purple sitting down on the grass. Accompanied by a girl in a wheelchair wearing green. Pumpkin quickly recognizes them, and runs over. "Elena, Emma!" Pumpkin barks out excited as she skids to a stop almost right on top of Emma. Making both girls look at Pumpkin in disbelief and excitement. "Pumpkin your back and you're okay!" Elena squeals as she instantly picks up the brownish dog that really needed a bath. 

"Yep, I'm back and better than ever thanks to my pack, and some new friends I met on the way." Pumpkin barks out her tail wagging furiously as she now notices the brown Chihuahua papillon mix. "Oh um who are you?" Pumpkin asks as the dog chuckles, "I'm Shiloh, I'm Elena's dog. You must be Pumpkin? Elena and your sister have talked very highly of you." Shiloh says as Pumpkin nods, "It's nice to meet you Shiloh." Pumpkin says simply before she heard Emma ask. "This is amazing does Georgie, and Mira know your back yet?" Emma asks as Pumpkin shook her head sadly.

 "No, I think they're better off not knowing. I mean they did replace me." Pumpkin says sadly as Elena, Emma and Shiloh look at her in confusion. "Pumpkin, what are you even talking about? Georgie and Mira are worried sick about you. Georgie has been working even more than usual the past few months, and you know she only does that when she's worried or stressed about something, and Mira's been so stressed between work and not having you that she almost gave it all up." Elena says as she knew both Mira and Georgie had been working themselves a bit too much lately, and both of them, even though it was three months hadn't gone a day without thinking about Pumpkin.

"But the Yorkies. She replaced me with two cute Yorkies. They gave up on me." Pumpkin barks as Emma shakes her head no, "Pumpkin you don't understand. Yes, Georgie adopted two Yorkies, but they needed her Pumpkin, and you know Georgie always helps people and animals in need. And Pumpkin think about it. It's almost been three months. Some things have to change. It's a part of life. Georgie and Mira went two months without getting another dog, and when the opportunity of Brook and Rascal it was Elena, Nathan, Mina, and I who convinced her to adopt them. Even though it stopped them from worrying as much, especially Rascal, it never stopped them from missing you though. So if anyone is to blame for trying to replace you it is us." Emma explained before Elena continued for Emma not wanting Pumpkin to get the wrong idea. 

"Pumpkin you have to understand. Things were different once you left like we said. Mina was the one who made the plan known. She told us about how Mira was going to stop doing her job because no one seemed to like her. Which we admit is partially our fault, and when we spent the night with Georgie she was basically scheduling a full schedule with literally no time to spare. They needed a distraction Pumpkin. They needed something other than work to do and training two Yorkies seemed to work, and Mira also gained confidence in her therapy dog ability. Trust me Pumpkin they still love you to death, but they had to move on somewhat." Elena says as Pumpkin nods. 

"They worried that much about me?" Pumpkin asks as Elena nods, "Of course they were. You're basically Georgie's baby. You should know that." Elena says before starting to roll back inside. "Now come on before they leave. Speaking of Emma, do you have your stuff ready?" Elena asks as Emma nods, "Yeah let's go!" Emma says as she started walking inside.
