A True Friend

If you have not read my one shot series about Celia and Maya. Celia is a blind Grey white and brown Shetland Sheepdog, and her best friend Maya has anosmia and is a black and white border collie. I hope you enjoy 💖

Come with me! We're almost there!" Tempest tells the black dog and orange cat as she headed towards where some of her friends roamed. Loki notice where they were going and whispered, "Are you sure about this? Last time we went to this part of the territory, Maya almost killed us." Loki reminded as Tempest shook her head, "Don't worry I highly doubt they will do that again. Maya was just protecting Celia last time." Tempest says as she continues flying looking out for the two other dogs.

Jade and Diamond were just talking on the way there knowing how badly they had messed up and hoping this detour was worth it. "So Diamond do you ever think we'll see our pack again." Jade asked nervously as Diamond sighs, "I hope so, but I don't know Jade." Diamond says as they stop and their bird friend squawk.

"Yeesh Tempest you don't have to be so loud! We can hear just fine. In fact you probably woke up everyone a mile away from here." A border collie mix says to the bird in annoyance as another dog who looked to be a Shetland Sheepdog came out, "Maya what's going on I smell new comers, and hey Tempest and Loki." Celia says as she halted at her friends flank. "That's a good question C. What are you doing here Tempest? And who are those dogs?" Maya asked suspiciously as she didn't trust easily.

Tempest and Loki held their paws and wings up, "We're here because we need your help. And let me introduce you. Maya, Celia, I want you to meet Jade and Diamond from the Whirlwind Pack. Maya gently turned nudging Celia to do the same. "Hello Jade and Diamond I'm Maya, and that my best friend Celia." Maya says with a glare, before turning back to Tempest, "What do you need help with Tempest?" Maya asked as Celia nods, "Yeah Tempest and if it searching for anything you're out of luck. Maya and I are supposed to go swimming today." Celia barks excitedly as Maya rolls her eyes.

"She has a point, but we don't have to go swimming today remember Celia we always help a friend in need first." Maya taught as Maya huffs before playfully saying, "What ever you say mother!" Tempest just rolled her eyes at the two friends, "Well you see these two Alpha's have forgotten what a true pack is." Tempest says before Maya pulled her over a bit, "I'm going to stop ya right there. Celia keep the rest of our guests entertained while I talk to feathers real quick." Celia nods as Maya motions for Tempest and Loki to follow her.

"So what exactly is the point of this? We're not a pack how are we supposed to know what a pack is? This should really be something to ask Missile she's the one who has a pack and is trying to set the true meaning into her pack." Maya hissed as the bird nods.

"Trust me I know that, but they think Missile is a threat since her pack is a fierce pack. You and Celia were the next best option as you have been through thick and thin together, and know what that bond truly is since you literally need each other to survive. You may not be a pack, but you're a good example of what they should look like. Please Maya it would mean a ton." Tempest says as Maya nods, "Alright but you owe me feather brain." Maya says before walking near Celia. Alright Celia, she want us to tell our story do you think we can handle that? Celia turns to where Maya scent was and nods,

"Yeah as long as these two promise not to make fun of us for you know what." Celia says as Jade and Diamond who had been confused about what they were doing here nod, "We promise but we're really in a hurry do you think you can walk and talk?" Jade asks as the two others nod, "Yes of course come on Celia follow me okay. I'm not having you get lost." Maya says sternly as Jade looks to Diamond , "Do they remind you of us with Pumpkin?"

Jade questions Diamond who nods, "Definitely, but I can't help but feel that there is a deeper connection then what we have with Pumpkin as well." Diamond says before hearing Celia start talking, "Well Maya and I have always been two peas in a pod, but we grew even closer when an accident happened that almost broke both of us an our friendship." Celia started as Jade and Diamond looked at them confused. "What happened?" Jade asked interested in the story as the two farm dogs looked at each other.

"That's a story for another time, but the main point of it is that Celia became blind, and that I have anosmia in other words I completely lost my sense of smell." Maya says bluntly, as the two Alpha's stopped in their tracks. "You both have disabilities, but you act like two  normal dogs." Diamond says as Maya rolls her eyes and Celia huffs, "Our disabilities do not define us!" Both farm dogs bark out as they had heard that so many times. Before Celia continued.

"We use to think like that, but afterwards we realized if we worked together we could still thrive as Maya is my sight and I am her nose." Celia tells the two as Maya continues, "Cause a true friend won't leave you when times get rough, they stick with you and that situation makes you grow stronger and closer, and true friends don't judge each other just because of who they once were. As for Celia and I are friendship will never ever falter even when we disagree. Cause we depend on each other. Friendship can only go as well as the animals in them."

Maya says as she continues to guide Celia who smells something  that Jade was carrying. "You know there is a quicker way to get to whoever you're tracking right?" Celia asked as the dog and cat looked at the other duo. "What do you mean Celia we been smelling this thing all day there is no faster way, and how did you smell this collar from a yard away and find the scent that fast?" Jade questions as the two just laugh.

"I may have lost my sight but that means my other senses are even better and more sensitive. My nose is my guide now, just like Maya's is her eyes." Now do you want to get where your going to faster or not." Celia asked as the two nod. If they have learned anything from the Arrow disaster it was that  you shouldn't judge a dog by their flaws, and they could really use the help now that Thorn, Tyson, Dove, Blaze, and even Arrow were gone. "Alright lead the way Celia." Celia nods as they start off.
