"So what kind of music do you like?" Tugging his gaze away from the water towards where she stood against the painted dock he couldn't help but release a low sigh.
"Different kinds." Just like before he'd responded monotonously.
Rolling her eyes at the response she clarified the questions, "Any specific musicians?" At that she turned trying to gauge his reaction, bright (E/C) hues sparking from the prospect of knowing what potentially plays within the confines of his mind.
"Claudio Monteverdi." He was a man of few words, especially now.
"Opera right? Not what I'd expected but he makes a lot of good music." Losing interest in the conversation his attention trailed down towards his hand, callus fingers ran across the surface of the shell wary of feeling the inside as to not rub away the writing.
Yellow and purple hues then trailed back towards where the (H/C) haired girl stood, her mouth and body still moved but he knew better.
The large blue bar set out across her forehead was enough.
Narrowing his eyes towards the copy he watched it slip into a fast forwarding state, only stopping once (Y/N) was sitting along the top of the railing, eyes reflecting the ocean's horizon.
"I think I'm going to go swimming tomorrow." Musing that out (Y/N) bobbed her head slightly, although much like before he'd shot down the idea even if this wasn't really her.
"You'll catch a cold though. It's fall." Rising up from the ground and moving to lean against the railing beside where she sat his hands fiddled with the shell some more.
A nauseous feeling settled within the pit of his stomach.
"Then what should we do tomorrow?" Her legs swung back and forth as the words left her lips, whatever he would suggest she'd probably be fine with considering most of the things they'd done till now were his idea.
Closing his hand around the shell he spoke, "We should go out, have a great time. Go out a few more times after that, explore the city, try different things, I'll tell you that I love you even if you were probably aware of that, just anythi-" He stopped talking almost instantly seeing the look of surprise she'd made.
"So like a date?"
A breath left his lips quickly realizing that he'd lost himself in the moment.
Forgot that she wasn't really there in the moment.
"Yeah, a date. A date that will be the highlight of my life." Breathing that out he'd paused the scene. (Y/N)'s expression was serine and he couldn't help but reach out running his hand through her hair.
He still couldn't believe what happened.
It was so sudden, so quick and yet he didn't have much time to properly process the information given till the officer left.
His apartment had quickly become his place of mourning although just his room, the kitchen was too painful to walk through even just to get by.
The culprit of the crime had been caught but much like what he feared the crook was able to escape the charges.
What a fucked up system.
Eventually after days of mourning he'd left his apartment, the beach being his final destination.
The dock was empty as he approached, the area void of people and the waves before were soft, barely existing.
It was then he'd decided to do something he wouldn't have before.
The iridescent purple and blue humanoid stand was out in an instant as he neared the end of the dock. It's skin right away began changing in hue as was it's form entirely till (Y/N) stood before him.
Her lips moved to begin the first ever conversation the two of them had. "How come you come out here everyday?"
And painfully he responded, "Why do you care?"
"Because you look lonely."
He became silent after that was said, the words hitting harder now than they did back then.
