3. Night in Jail

I am booked and Voight makes me stay in the same cell with all the others.  They know I am a detective because I have arrested a few of them over the years. Scott Hamilton says, "wow wow, we have the infamous Detective Antonio Dawson with us. What did you do for your own to turn on you?" I refuse to reply. "He asked you a question,  I would answer the man before it goes  real bad quickly you in here before you can get help," says Luke Walker. Another ass I arrested for domestic violence while off duty at a restaurant.  I know what Luke is capable so I answer.  " I  was following another detective and she didn't like it. She called it in and I was pulled over. I had too much to drink. You satisfied now? You ass."  I wasn't expecting Scott to hold my arms when Luke hit in my stomach hard and I went down.  Scott kicked me hard in my back.  I would get back at these guys later but not wow.  Pruitt came down. " Move him to his own cell. Dawson Hank should of never left you in this cell. Once Atwater told me, I came down. Let the paramedic that I called check you out when they get here. I knew these guys wouldn't let you be. I gotta go upstairs now.  Keep your head down. You are in enough trouble as it is."    " Yes
sergeant."  I go upstairs. " Hank yes, he screwed up. Those guys could of seriously hurt him.  You have just as bad as ego as he does. His assault is on record now. Your ass is just as in trouble as he is. This is all on you not him."  "I  will find out soon enough,  its the PC calling me. Yes sir, what can I do for you?"  " You left a detective locked up in the same cell as ones he had previously arrested.  You are no better than him. Turn your shield and gun to Trudy now. Have Trudy call me from a landline.  You are suspended for two weeks too. I don't know if this job is worth anymore with all this childish behavior of my officers.  Now, get out of my station and don't go do anything stupid Hank."  " Trudy here is my shield and gun.  I have been suspended for two weeks. He wants you to call him from a landline. " Hank hands me his gun after he clears it and his shield.  He re enters his office to get his jacket and leaves the station.  Great I will be put in charge of the Intelligence Unit for two weeks now.  This isn't what I was expecting. I  call the PC. COMMISSIONER Voight told me to call you sir."
" Effective the rest of your shift today you are in charge of the Intelligence Unit until further notice.  I expect you to run it professional and not allow any egos to get in the way."  " Yes  sir. I will  lock up his shield and gun until someone from your office comes for it.  I need to tell Chris Harrison he's the desk sgt. until further notice."
I go downstairs and lock up Voight's shield. No one is to remove this shield or gun.  I will personally turn it in whomever the PC authorizes to pick it up. For now your the desk sgt. until further notice.  I am going downstairs for a bit than I will be back upstairs.  Please call the Intelligence Unit in who are working now. Thanks Harrison." I go downstairs.  " DAWSON YOUR ACTIONS CAUSED A SPIRAL EFFECT.  NOW IT HAS IMPACTED TO ME. I AM NOW ACTING SGT. IN CHARGE OF INTELLIGENCE UNIT FOR TWO WEEKS OR MORE. VOIGHT HAS BEEN SUSPENDED. "  I look at Trudy ashamed of myself for actions causing problems for others.  I know Voight is an adult but Trudy and my fellow team is going to be more impacted now.

Halstead is the last one to show up back to the office for a briefing.
" You know about Dawson. I will be the acting Sgt. of the Intelligence Unit until further notice.  No communication with Voight about Dawson nor any active cases at all. Anyone who goes against my statement will be suspended too. The PC is ticked as it is by this department now.  We don't need him to become more angrier with any of us. What case are you working on now? Catch me up."

I listen to the updates and change up who is doing what now. I know I ruffled feathers, but I am to do my job.

Burgess makes a comment to lighten the mood and we all laugh.  We all know we are going to be under a microscope now because of Dawson. If the media gets their hand on it, it will only become worse for every officer especially us in the Intelligence Unit.
